VERO BEACH — Vero Beach High School Performing Arts Department will present No More Homework, a Comedy written by John Henderson featuring the Junior / Senior Drama department with special arrangement through Baker’s Plays, 7:30 p.m. Saturday, Nov. 21 and 2 p.m. Sunday, Nov. 22, in the Performing Arts Center.
When all the upper echelons of school administration are called away by meetings or illness, the student council takes over. Council president Pamela Jones becomes acting principal and gets off to a bad start when, trying to buzz the janitor, she sets off a fire alarm instead. Then, she must decide whether to stand behind an unpopular teacher and keep the school’s star athlete out of the State Basketball Tournament. Not the least of her worries is her acting vice-principal, Buzz Bailey, who grandly advises a gossipy student that there is to be no more homework. The many complications only add to the hilarity of this proven audience pleaser. Directed by Dee Rose, this production involves over 35 hardworking VBHS students. All proceeds go to benefit the Vero Beach High School Performing Arts Department.
Tickets are $10 for the Upper Level and $12 for the Lower Level and may be purchased by calling (772) 564-5537 or visiting the Box Office on Tuesdays or Thursdays, 9 am to 1 pm. Tickets will also be available at the door one hour prior to each performance.
