Marie Benton Mack, 86, of Vero Beach, died Aug. 6, 2009, at Vero Beach VNA Hospice House. She was born in Brooklyn, N.Y., and lived in Vero Beach since 2003, having been a Florida resident since 1952.
She was a member of Vero Beach First United Methodist Church, Order of the Eastern Star and Prudential Old Guard of the Prudential Insurance Co., where she was an underwriter for 14 years. She was a librarian at the Micanopy Library for eight years. Survivors include her brother, Robert I. Benton, of Bridgeton, N.J.; son, Daniel G. Mack, of Fredericksburg, Va.; grandchild; and great-grandchild. She was preceded in death by her husband of 50 years, Lawrence Robert Mack, of Micanopy.

A memorial service will be at 10 a.m. Aug. 11 at First United Methodist Church. The Rev. Dr. Charles C. Lever will officiate.
