Genevieve Karen Lane, Vero Beach

Genevieve Karen Lane died Aug. 8, 2009, in Vero Beach. She was born in Mayfield, Pa., and lived in Vero Beach, for 29 years coming from Kenvil, N.J.

Mrs. Lane was Roman Catholic and she was a member of American Legion Post 181 Moose Lodge of Vero Beach. Survivors include her husband, Roy J. Kenyon; sons, Michael Kenneth Lane, of Richmond, Va.; Randy John Lane, of Dover, N.J.; daughters, Karen Pieta, of Fort Myers; Cynthia Marie Lavin, of Effort, Pa.; and four grandchildren.

There are no services planned at this time.

VERO BEACH — While chilly temperatures caused a drop in beach attendance last month, lifeguards are happy to report that there were no water rescues that occurred in January. SEBASTIAN — Billy Wilson's impact on the community over the years was evident Saturday as family, friends, coaches, school board members and deputies gathered to pay final respects. Family, friends, marines honor ‘protector, hometown hero’

INDIAN RIVER COUNTY — Frank Strahorn was already considered a hero by his family, friends and marine brothers and sisters because of his military service around the world. Then, on June 19, the 34-year-old became a "hometown hero" after he was fatally shot while helping others escape a gunman carrying an AK-47 assault rifle at a Sebastian pizzeria.
