Joan H. Wolfe, 86, of Vero Beach, died June 24, 2009. Joan was a resident of Vero Beach, for 35 years coming from Marietta, Ga., where she lived for a number of years. Mrs. Wolfe was born in Knoxville, Tenn., where she was raised in the Episcopal faith.
Bridge was her favorite pastime with her dear friends who had played for many years. Joan was a mentor, pink lady, and worked at the voting polls. She enjoyed the mountains of Tennessee, Georgia, and Carolinas.
Survivors include her husband of 60 years R. D. Wolfe; son, Kirk H. Wolfe, of North Carolina; daughter-in- law, Sherri (Gene) Whitaker, of Jacksonville; five grandchildren; five great-grandsons; cousin, Ban Stanfiel, of Ashville, N.C., and Rosemary Thresher, of Jacksonville; and god-children.

Mrs. Wolfe was proceeded in death by her parents, Dr. and Mrs. Charles Harris; and son, James.

A life celebration service for Joan will be offered at 2 p.m., Saturday, June 27, 2009 at the Lakes at Pointe West in Vero Beach.
