Erika Babcock, 100, Vero Beach
Erika ML Babcock, 100, of Vero Beach, died April 4, 2018. Erika was born on July 12, 1917, in Saarbrucken, Germany. She came to live in the USA in 1958.
She lived in Virginia, South Carolina, Massachusetts and Florida. While in Massachusetts she worked as a secretary for the Massachusetts Institute of Technology until her retirement.
In 1986 she moved to Vero Beach where she spent the last 32 years of her life.
Erika enjoyed her garden and being active outside for so many more months in Florida’s warm weather. She, and her partner Tom Jenkins, were involved in several local theaters and stage productions. Erika even acted as an extra in several films such as “From Here to The Moon,” and “Something About Mary.” Erika enjoyed singing and being on stage.
Erika is survived by two of her three daughters, Ramona L. Wheeler, of Rockland, Mass., and Virginia R. Waldron, of Cazenovia, N.Y.; three granddaughters; and two great-grandchildren.
