United Against Poverty Launches Indian River County Multi-Agency Resource Center (MARC)

United Against Poverty is announcing the launch of the Indian River County Multi-Agency Resource Center (MARC). Beginning, Tuesday, October 15th, the Indian River UP-Center will serve as a one-stop assistance center for disaster survivor information, referrals, and critical services for residents of the community. Individuals and families affected by Hurricane Milton can access a wide range of vital assistance from multiple social service agencies.

The MARC will bring together key organizations such as FEMA, United Way, Red Cross, Salvation Army, Habitat for Humanity, Veterans Council, Mental Health Collaborative, and Senior Resource Association, all on-site to provide community support. This initiative is critical in the wake of the devastating impacts of Hurricane Milton, offering a central hub for families in need of resources and services during the recovery period.

Available assistance at the MARC will include:

  • Family food vouchers
  • Emotional care and counseling
  • Rental and housing assistance
  • Enrollment in benefits programs
  • Unemployment assistance
  • Food assistance
  • Recovery information
  • Legal advice and representation
  • Home repair assistance and referrals
    …and more.

The MARC officially launched Tuesday, October 15th, and services will be available daily for those impacted. We encourage all community members affected by Hurricane Milton to visit and take advantage of this essential resource.
