Fashion For Freedom Fundraiser

To help raise funds for new Indian River Charter High School student Sophia Hlushchencko, a Ukrainian teen who only last month was able to escape her Russian-occupied homeland, after being accepted into Charter’s international student program. Charter students, faculty, parents and Sophia’s host family will present the Fashion For Freedom Fundraiser, Sept. 27, 7:30 p.m. in Charter Hall, the school’s beautiful performance/events facility. 

Sophia and Charter Artistic Director Michael Naffziger will emcee the show, presenting fashions from three Vero Beach boutiques, Patchington, In Motion, and Seahorse Lane, as well as designs from the IRCHS Fashion Program and the Design and Production Class, all modeled by Charter students and faculty.  There will also be a Thrifty Student presentation, featuring items purchased by students from a thrift store for under $20. 

A special 6 p.m. VIP pre-show party will include Ukrainian appetizers catered by Wild Thyme, a “mock-tail” or other non-alcoholic beverage, live music by  the award winning IRCHS Wolves Jazz Band; and the first opportunity to browse the  boutique and silent auction sale items. 

General and student admission begins at 7 p.m. Show time is 7:30 p.m.
