Friends of St. Sebastian River Meeting

March 26 @ 6:00 pm - 7:30 pm

Free

Ashley Lingwood, Indian River County Conservation Lands Program Coordinator, will join us at our March meeting for a presentation on the South Prong Preserve. She will bring us up to date on their plans for improvements at the Preserve, wildlife monitoring, and land management progress.

The Conservation Lands Program also recently partnered with the Vero Beach High School’s AP Environmental Science Program and worked on a project with the students at the Preserve.

Ashley is a native Floridian and has been working in Florida habitats for the past 13 years. She started her biological career monitoring sea turtles on the beaches of Indian River County, then spent 7 years trudging through the Florida Everglades. She spent the majority of her time monitoring imperiled and native wildlife, treating invasive plant species, and conducting prescribed burns of hundreds of acres of sawgrass interspersed with beautiful tree islands.

The meeting is Tuesday, March 26, 6pm at the North Indian River County Library, 1001 Sebastian Blvd. in Sebastian and all are welcome to attend. For more information, visit www.fssr.org/meeting.htm or call 772-202-0501.
