Martha Graham is widely recognized as one of the most influential dance figures of the 20th century, and her company is as vital as ever in the 21st century, delivering an evolution of modern dance since its founding.
The Martha Graham Dance Company is the nation’s oldest dance company, celebrating its 100th Season with a three-year centennial extravaganza.
Ballet Vero Beach is honored to partner with the Martha Graham Dance Company by presenting three world premieres inspired by Graham’s Lamentation solo, which explores the very essence of grief and the dignity that comes with validating your emotions.
The new works will be featured in our upcoming mixed repertory program, Balanchine, Graham, Wheeldon, on February 23 & 24 at the VBHS Performing Arts Center.
The program will also feature pieces by prolific choreographers George Balanchine and Christopher Wheeldon and our own Museum Pieces choreographed by Camilo A. Rodriguez and Adam Schnell.
Balanchine, Graham, Wheeldon puts our Artists’ versatility and talent on full display and features bold leaps forward in our repertory development while honoring collaborations that continue to help us grow.
