Microplastics, tiny but a growing impact

March 27, 2018 @ 6:00 pm - 7:30 pm

Free

How easy it is to overlook the tiny bits of plastic found in the world’s oceans and coastal habitats. After all, they are less than .2 inch in size.

Yet as tiny as they are, microplastics have become a growing concern for the health of our natural resources. On Tues., Mar. 27 at 6:00pm, Leslie Nicole Munroe will be describing the impacts from microplastics and ways individuals can take action to stop them.

Ms. Munroe is the guest speaker at the Friends of St. Sebastian River meeting being held at the North Indian River County Library, 1001 Sebastian Blvd. in Sebastian. The public is encouraged to attend this free program.

Ms. Munroe is the Environmental Horticulture Agent for the University of Florida’s Institute of Food and Agricultural Sciences (UF/IFAS), Indian River County office.
