VERO BEACH, FL – February 28, 2023 – McKee Botanical Garden will once again be participating in the Florida Department of State’s March of Museums. The department hosts the March of Museums website (MarchofMuseums.com), which offers listings of over 150 museums, historic sites, children’s museums, zoos and Gardens/Arboretum by region and highlights events from each participating institution during the month of March. This initiative was created to celebrate the variety and versatility of museums, historic sites and other cultural institutions and the important services they provide to our communities. The goal is to connect to our communities and share the many unique opportunities for visitors to experience local gardens and museums.
“McKee Botanical Garden is proud to be a participating member of the March of Museums program again this year. We hope visitors from all over Florida will enjoy celebrating the history, culture, art, and natural beauty that McKee Botanical Garden has to offer,” stated Executive Director Christine Hobart.
Currently, the Garden is hosting Jason Gamrath’s Garden of Glass exhibition featuring stunning glass sculptures of orchids, waterlilies and other plants throughout the Garden. Each sculpture is intended to accurately represent its living counterpart on a macro scale, bringing to light the beauty that exists within the micro scale of nature. These one-of-a-kind works convey the complexity of their living counterparts, engaging viewers in new ways of looking at nature through the fragility of glass art. The exhibition will be on display through April 30, 2023.
