Miles Wayne Martin, 86, Sebastian
Miles Wayne Martin, 86, of Sebastian, passed away Feb. 14, 2018. Miles was born June 24, 1931, in Clarion, Pa., to Charlotte and Miles Martin.
Miles was a lifelong member of the Vero Beach Orchid Society, the Harley Davidson Dresser Club, and an active member of Living Lord Lutheran Church.
He was a veteran of the Korean War, stationed in Germany for two years while serving in the Army.
He worked as the Head Custodian for 10 years at Dodgertown and Pelican Island elementary schools.
He is survived by his loving wife of 66 years, Louise Katherine Martin; three daughters, Cheryl (Tommy Lee) Abbott, Diane (James) Oneal, Ruth Hills (David Jones); daughter-in-law, Judy Martin; eight grandchildren; and eight great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his son, Wayne Martin; three brothers, and one sister.
Family and friends are invited to attend a Celebration of Life Service at Living Lord Lutheran Church, 2725 58th Ave, Vero Beach, on Saturday, Feb. 17.
Greeting of Family will begin at 10 a.m., with Services at 11 a.m., a reception will follow.
Jacquinnette Barker Palmer, 87, Vero Beach
Jacquinnette Barker Palmer, 87, of Vero Beach, passed away Wednesday, Feb. 7, 2018, at the Indian River Medical Center in Vero Beach. She was born in Orange, N.J., and moved to Vero Beach 29 years ago from Succasunna, N.J.
Jacquinnette had been a statistical analyst for the pharmaceutical company Pfizer/Warner-Lambert prior to her retirement.
Jacquinnette was an avid traveler with Richard; exploring much of the United States in their motor home. Her favorite destination was Myrtle Beach, S.C., where they spent most Septembers.
She was the loving wife of Richard T. Palmer, who predeceased her, and a beloved grandmother. Survivors include one sister, one daughter, five grandchildren, and three great-grandchildren.
The family will receive friends 5-7 p.m., Thursday, Feb. 22, at the Strunk Funeral Home in Vero Beach with a prayer service beginning at 6 p.m. Mass will be celebrated 10 a.m., Friday, Feb. 23, at St. John of the Cross Catholic Church in Vero Beach. Interment will follow at Crestlawn Cemetery in Vero Beach.
Roger Allen Parsons, 83, Vero Beach
Roger Allen Parsons, 83, of Vero Beach, passed away Feb. 13, 2018.
He retired from Nationwide Insurance, Columbus, Ohio, in 1998.
He is survived by his wife of 37 years, Linda L. Parsons; children, Deborah (Doug) Russell, Mark Parsons, Robert (Mindy) Parsons, Craig (Kim) Parsons; step-daughter, Mariann (John) Glover; 12 grandchildren, eight great-grandchildren.
He also leaves his sisters, Doris (Harold) Grandy, Mary Lou (Kenny) Koloff; sisters-in-law, Cheryl Parsons, Lynn (Larry) Cowan, Mary Woosley, brother-in-law, James (Maria) Woosley, as well as many nieces and nephews and their families.
He was preceded in death by parents, Alden Parsons and Norma Wood Parsons; sisters, Eileen Grandy and Donna Johnson; brothers, Rodney Parsons and Robert M. Parsons.
A Memorial Service will be held 2:30 p.m., Monday, Feb. 19, 2018, at The Community Church Chapel of Vero Beach.

A Gathering will take place Friday, Feb. 23, from 5-7 p.m. at Schoedinger Northeast Chapel, 1051 E. Johnstown Road, Gahanna, Ohio. A Memorial Service will follow at 7 p.m.
