Florence “Flossie” Townsend Squire, 92, Vero Beach
July 05, 1930 – October 15, 2022
Squire, Florence Townsend, died October 15, 2022, at home surrounded by her family. She was 92.
Mrs. Squire, also known as “Flossie,” was born in Yonkers, New York on July 5, 1930 to Charles Henry Townsend and his wife, Helen K. Townsend.
In 1943 she moved to Hastings-on-Hudson, New York and graduated from Hastings High School.
She married Robert A. Squire on August 19, 1950 and moved to Burlington, Vermont where she helped him pursue his education at The University of Vermont. Ultimately, they moved to Baltimore, Maryland where her husband, Dr. Squire, joined the faculty of The Johns Hopkins University School of Medicine.
At this time Mrs. Squire attended The Maryland Institute College of Art in Baltimore, MD, pursuing her education in the arts. She became a prolific Potter and Quilter, and was active in several local and national art organizations, enjoying teaching at The Archbishop Keough High School.
Flossie became a permanent resident of Vero Beach in April 2003.
She was preceded in death by her husband and great granddaughter, Payson Middleton.
Survivors include Thomas A. Squire (son), Jill Squire Maynard (daughter), Rachel N. Lubold and Christina Maynard (granddaughters), Jaxon Halley and Kolton Middleton (great-grandsons).

Morris Lee Hall, 67, Vero Beach
July 10, 1955 – October 26, 2022
Morris Lee Hall of Vero Beach passed peacefully at home on October 26th, 2022.
He was born on July 10th, 1955 in Fellsmere, FL and resided in Vero Beach for most of his life.
Lee worked as a general contractor and also owned multiple successful fish shops in Vero Beach. He was an avid fisherman and enjoyed boating and traveling with his wife.
Lee is survived by his wife, Donna, sons; Kevin (Kaci) Hall, Jason (Charlene) Hall, Nick (Paige) Hall, and Michael (Ana) Crawford, grandchildren; Neve, Morgan, Luke, Owen, Hannah, Hailey, Mikey, and Mateo. Great-grandchildren, Aubrey and James and sister Rhonda (Lester) Hummel.
Lee was preceded in death by his parents, Morris & Bernice Hall.
A Celebration of Life will be held on Wednesday, November 2, 2022, from 5pm-8pm at Indian River Shores Community Center, 6001 N. A1A, Vero Beach, FL 32963.

Fred Van Zonneveld, 73, Vero Beach
December 13, 1948 – October 26, 2022
Long-time Vero Beach resident, Fred Van Zonneveld, passed away peacefully at home on October 26, 2022, at age 73 with family by his side.
He was born in Pahokee, FL on December 13, 1948, to Cory and Bill Van Zonneveld who had immigrated to the United States from the Netherlands earlier in 1948.
Fred grew up in Vero Beach, FL and graduated from Vero Beach High School in 1966 and LaGrange College in 1970.
Known for his infectious laugh, big smile, and easy conversation, he cherished his deep and lasting friendships over the years. He was a true friend to others and enjoyed their reciprocity in friendship.
Sports, gardening, cooking, and entertaining were Fred’s passions. He was an avid sportsman, including pickle ball, tennis, golf, boating, and water skiing. He was also a passionate gardener, winning praise for his beautiful gardens where he loved to entertain and host family and friends.
Fred was predeceased by his parents and his youngest brother, Paul. He is survived by his son Will Van Zonneveld (Kelsey), and grandchildren, Arya, and Noah.
In addition, he is survived by his sisters Olske Forbes of Vero Beach and Birgit Robbert (Al) of Arlington, VA, and his brother Hans (Dede) Van Zonneveld of Vero Beach; nieces Beth Forbes of Greenwich, CT, and Lieske Renz of Arlington, VA; and nephews Bo Forbes of Vero Beach and Drew Robbert of Alexandria, VA.

William Lawrence (Larry) Lesemann Sr., 86
January 4, 1936 – October 23, 2022
William Lawrence (Larry) Lesemann Sr. passed away un-expectedly on Sunday October 23, 2022, in Vero Beach Florida. He was 86 years young.
Larry was born in Nashville, Tennessee and briefly attended Old Miss, until he decided to leave school and start his own business: Larry’s Honda of Gallatin. He was a wonderful, loving and adventurous person with the kindest of hearts. Larry loved motorcycles, boats, planes and cars and spent many years with his dear friends Mike and Adie Ricci building and flying, model airplanes. He was a master craftsman, building countless model airplanes to exact reproduction and in the most infinite of detail.
Larry was pre-deceased by his Parents, Louis A. Lesemann and Catharine (Kay Wemyss) Lesemann, as well as his only brother, James A., and youngest son, Alexander Reed (Al).
Larry is survived by his beloved friend and companion, Adie C. Ricci of Fort Pierce, Florida; sons; William (Will) Jr., Louis (Heather), Robert (Rob) (Ginger), and granddaughters, Catharine L. Hardin (Levi); Hannah L. Greggs (Houston); Sarah L. Johnson (Bobbi); and former wife, Betty Jo Lesemann, Gallatin, TN.

Edmond Joel ”Rusty” Lupo, 65, Vero Beach
May 12, 1957 – October 23, 2022
Edmond Joel ”Rusty” Lupo, 65, of Vero Beach, Florida, went home to Jesus October 23rd, 2022 at the Hospice House of Vero Beach after fighting a long battle of health issues.
Rusty was born in Homerville, Georgia, to Barbara J. Lupo and the late Edmond R. Lupo.
He moved to Florida and made it his home.
Rusty enjoyed being on the water fishing or playing his guitar for his family and friends.
A jack of all trades, Rusty worked in plumbing and concrete, amongst other things.
In addition to his mother, Rusty is survived by his loving children, Sandy Joe Casteel of Summerville, SC and Betty Jean Watkins of Berry, Alabama; siblings, Susan, Theresa, Robbie, Tamera and Jamie; Grandchildren, Brady Jacob Lupo, Lyla Jade Casteel, Madilynn Kate Watkins, Clayton Jacob Yantz; his best friend, Rocky O’Brian and his family; his uncle Paul, aunt Faye & aunt Robbie & their families; Boyd, Jamie, Amanda, Matthew, Tiffany, Barbara, Joe, Michael, Tommy, Vannessa, Valerie, Chris, Riley, Christopher, Braylen, Jacob, Jared and Jessi; and many other loving family & friends. He will be greatly missed.

William Sherman Steele, II ‘Billy,’ 51, Sebastian
February 4, 1971 – October 20, 2022
William Sherman Steele, II ‘Billy’, of Sebastian, FL passed away unexpectedly on Thursday, October 20, 2022 from natural causes as a result of medical issues he battled for a few years. Billy was only 51 years old. The family is deeply saddened and shocked by his sudden death but is grateful to know that he is finally at peace. Billy was born on February 4, 1971, graduated from Vinson High School in 1989, and lived in Westmoreland, WV the first half of his life before moving to Florida for the remainder of his life.
Billy was predeceased by his longtime partner Joyce Wegner in 2020. He is survived by his father William ‘Bill’ Steele (Sharon), mother Jean Langley, sister Jennifer Langley Yancy (Robert Chesser), brother Scott Steele (Sherry), nieces Alexandria and Elissa Steele, nephew Ethan Steele, and numerous aunts, uncles and cousins.

Vito Larceri, 85, Grant
April 13, 1937 – October 21, 2022
Vito Larceri was born to parents Antoinette Pariso Larceri and Angelo Charles Larceri in Newark, NJ. He attended Arts High School. His mother used to say that Chevrolet designed the Corvette after seeing one of Vito’s drawings.
Vito joined the Navy in 1955. Stationed at Anacostia, DC at the US Naval Air Station he trained as an Air Traffic Controller. After serving at Norfolk, Virginia, Vito transferred to Sigonella Naval Base in Sicily, Italy and later to Reykjavik, Iceland. Before discharge in 1963 he had been accepted for underwater demolition team training.
Besides being an Air Traffic Controller at Idlewyld, (later named JFK Airport), and Miami, Fl; Vito had a number of various professions. While waiting for openings at those airports he was a taxi driver, cook, surveyor, and photographer.
Vito was married to Marguerite Smith to which union Angela, Maria and Joseph were born.
Vito also is a father to Joe Kloss of Eau Claire, Wi.
In Vero Beach Vito enjoyed being the owner of an orange and grapefruit grove. He also had a passion for cars and motorcycles and loved traveling to car and motorcycle events throughout the country. He was an active member and President of the Ft. Lauderdale Street Rodders Car Club. Vito loved his dog Caesar and wished Caesar liked to car travel with him. However, that was not on Caesar’s list of fun things to do. Vito took a special interest in flying, fishing and boating. He also enjoyed hunting in Kansas with longtime friends.
Vito married Patricia Minor in 1990 and they made their home in Sebastian, Vero Beach, and lastly Grant, Fl. Together Vito and Patti enjoyed many NSRA events including Burlington, VT, Minneapolis, MN, Colorado Springs, CO, Oklahoma City, OK and many others.
Vito enjoyed the quiet country life in Grant, FL and reconnecting with friends from the Ft. Lauderdale Street Rod Club. To his delight former Club members Marsha and Jim Works and Dan and Mary Rowland had also relocated to Grant.
Occupying his time dining out with friends, watching Jeopardy, and in the backyard feeding the wildlife including peacocks, deer, squirrels, turtles, turkeys, Guinea Hens and Sandhill Cranes filled the quieter days.
Vito was preceded in death by his parents Angelo Larceri, Antoinette Pariso Larceri and sibling Joseph Larceri. He is survived by his wife of 32 years Patti Minor Larceri, children Angela Larceri, Maria Larceri Epling, Joseph Larceri, Joe Kloss, sisters Mary Larceri and Angela Larceri and sister-in-law Janet Emmerling Larceri. Nephew, Angelo Larceri and Niece, Antoinette Larceri.
Vito was loved and will be missed by a host of relatives, including double cousins, and good friends whom he treasured.
If love could have saved him, he would have lived forever.

(Elizabeth) Louise Cross, 88, Palm Bay
July 10, 1934 – October 21, 2022
(Elizabeth) Louise Cross, 88, of Palm Bay passed away peacefully on October 21, 2022. She is now with her beloved husband of 65 years, Myron, and all of their many dogs and various pets. She was of the Lutheran faith.
Louise was born in Leetsdale, PA in 1934. She was of German and Czechoslovakian descent. After graduating high school she married Myron in 1954. They lived in Pittsburgh until 1960, when they moved to Rapid City, South Dakota. In 1963, they moved to Wichita, Kansas. Louise was a stay-at-home Mom and housewife for that time. Later in 1963, they moved to the east coast of Florida, where they remained.
After the children got to school age, Louise went to work in various jobs as a bookkeeper. She was also the President of the PTA and a Girl Scout Leader.
When the kids were in their teenage years, their home was considered the house to hang out at. Louise was “everybody’s” Mom. She loved having a houseful of kids.
They started raising dogs which included Great Danes, hybrid wolves and their beloved English Mastiffs. Louise dedicated a lot of her time for 30 years to raising, showing and Championing their English Mastiffs. She was considered a Matriarch of the MCOA (Mastiff Club of America). She mentored many people in the proper breeding, raising, handling, and showing of English Mastiffs.
Her hobbies of late included coloring, going to movies and watching TV.
Louise is survived by her sweet cat, Prince, a loyal companion; her oldest daughter, Debbie, and her husband Todd of Fellsmere; her son, Skip (Jonna) of Palm Bay; her grandson, Camyron Cross
of Palm Bay; her God Daughter, Trude Hull of Melbourne; her daughter, Rae, and her family (Phil, Brianna, Randy) of Sebastian; grandson, David Cross (Amy) of Buford, Georgia; her great granddaughter, Annabelle Louise Cross, of Buford, Georgia. She is also survived by her caregiver, Andrea Shackles (and Andrea’s grandchildren Alan and Evie) of Palm Bay; and her very dear friends, Christy Hunter, Rose McCann, and Melissa Grant.
She will be remembered for her compassion, her sense of humor and her generous personality. She put everyone above herself when it came to needs and she will be sadly missed by all.
A visitation will be held from noon until 1:00pm, November 12, at Seawinds Funeral Home on Fleming Street in Sebastian. A service will follow immediately at 1:00 at the same location. A celebration of life will follow immediately at the American Legion, at 807 Louisiana Avenue, Sebastian.
