Ruth Chrzan Cook, 89, Vero Beach 

February 12, 1933 – October 04, 2022

Ruth Chrzan Cook, age 89, passed away October 4, 2022, in Vero Beach, FL.

She was born February 12, 1933, in Brooklyn, New York to the late Aaron and Sarah Slutsky (Zelda Patlove).

After vacationing in Vero Beach for many years, Ruth moved here in 2017 from Woodstock, New York.

Ms. Cook was a retired Artist and Sculptor. She was a Christian.

Survivors include her sons, Adam Chrzan of Vero Beach and Christopher Chrzan of Dade County, Florida; daughter, Alyssa Fulton of O’Brien, Florida; grandsons, Nathan Andrew Chrzan and Aaron Michael Chrzan of Vero Beach, Florida, and Keith Wayne Bradbury of Fort White, Florida; granddaughters, Teresa Lynn Rathburn of Lake City, Florida; Sara Nicole Notgarine of Royal Palm Beach, Florida; and Amanda Marie Bradbury of Royal Palm Beach, Florida, and one great grandchild.

She was predeceased by her husband, Cary Cook.

A Service will be held at a future date.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Alzheimer’s Association, P.O. Box 96011, Washington, DL 20090-6011, in her name.

Sherri Lynn Schwab, 57, Vero Beach

October 12, 1964 – October 4, 2022

Sherri passed away October 4, 2022 peacefully at home in her sleep.

Sherri was born October 12, 1964 in Willoughby, OH.  She was the daughter of Charles and Margaret (Hogan) Schwab.

She had been employed by PNC Bank and also in the health insurance industry.

Sherri moved to Vero Beach, FL from Portage, MI in 2018.

She enjoyed the warmer weather and especially going to the beach and riding her bike. She was an avid reader, and enjoyed watching sports of all kind especially hockey, football and golf.

Sherri is survived by one sister, Margery Kathleen (John) Stoever of Florida; 10 nieces and nephews (Erika, Chrissy, Johnny, Anita, Charlene, Lisa, Chuck, James, Jeffrey and John), and several great nieces and nephews.

She was proceeded in death by her parents and by four brothers (Frederick, John Patrick, Charles Thomas, and Robert Wayne) and by one sister (Suzanne Louise).

Margaret V. (Marge) Williams, 105, Vero Beach

March 6, 1917 – October 9, 2022

Margaret V. (Marge) Williams,105 1/2 years and wife of the late George A. Williams, passed away at her residence after a brief illness. She was born in West Warwick, Rhode Island on March 6, 1917 to parents, Anthony P. and Beatrice Gil Chadwick.

She graduated from West Warwick High School with the Class of 1935 and continued her education at Edgewood Secretarial School in Providence, Rhode Island. In August, 1980 Margaret and her husband George moved to Vero Beach, Florida from West Greenwich, Rhode Island.

She started her career as Executive Secretary with a jewelry concern in Providence from 1937 to 1946. In 1948 she was hired by Warwick’s new Kent County Memorial Hospital as its first employee and as bookkeeper and secretary. In January, 1960 she advanced to the position of Business Office Manager, retiring on April 27, 1979. She organized the Kent County Memorial Hospital’s Employees Credit Union in July, 1963 and remained as its Manager and Treasurer until the year 1975. In October, 1978 she was chosen “Woman of the Year” by the Kent County Business and Professional Women’s Club of Warwick, R.I. She also held high official positions on a local, state, and national level with the Coventry West Greenwich Emblem Club #436, the Rhode Island State Association of Emblem Club #8, and the Supreme Emblem Club of the United States of America. She volunteered many hours of services with many of the Rode Island’s charitable organizations.

She was a parishioner of the St John of the Cross Catholic Church of Vero Beach since it’s inception and a charter member of the church choir and also a member of the Women’s Guild.

Survivors include her daughter, Janice E. Freeman of Vero Beach, FL and her son, George A. Williams, Jr of New Smyrna Beach, FL. Six grandchildren, Kimberly (James) McIntyre of Vero Beach, FL, Todd (Jana) Protzman of Post Mills, VT, Dawn (Dave) Casselton of Rockwood, TN, Tina (Chris) Sullivan of New Smyrna Beach, FL, Scott (Meagan) Williams of New Smyrna Beach, FL, and Kelli (Cale) Ozendes of Jupiter, FL. Sixteen great-grandchildren, Sasha, Jude, Hunter, Logan, Zica-Varie, Amber, Ashley, Kyle, Cody, Harley, Kali, Chloe, Lilly, Kayden, Ayla, Kentlee. Six great great-grandchildren, Jade, Sage, Peyton, Mari-Mellow, Carson, Hartlyn.

She was preceded in death by her husband George A. Williams, her brother, Joseph Chadwick, sister Dorothy Demers, and sister Mabel Cunningham of West Warwick, R.I.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be held 11 AM, Friday, October 14, 2022 at St John of the Cross Catholic Church, with visitation 1 hour prior. Interment to follow at Crestlawn Cemetery, Vero Beach.

Salvatore Sofia, 59

April 15, 1963 – October 3, 2022

Salvatore Sofia was sent to Heaven on October 3rd, in Sebastian, Florida. He was an incredible artist, patriot, pilot, and even a comedian who found humor in every situation. He had a love for science, especially anything space-related. He was a beautiful soul who will be sorely missed. In every dark corner of the world, he brought life and laughter, and to every person he met, he brought inspiration.

He is survived by his wife, Cheri Sofia; his children and stepchildren; Amanda Carpenter (Brad), Juliann Sofia, Alexander Dietrich, McKenzie Dietrich, and Nicholas Sofia; his 5 grandchildren; parents Joseph and Charlotte Sofia; and his siblings, Linda Bormann (William); Joanne Small (Dave); Sharon Sofia; and Joseph Sofia (Barbara). He will also be missed by his dog, Reggie.
