SEBASTIAN — A suspect in a Georgia double homicide of an older couple was found late Monday inside a car parked across the street from a home in Sebastian, police said. The man, Jordan Kyle Lemaster, was the nephew of the victims, according to the Georgia Bureau of Investigation.

Sebastian police officers said the car Lemaster was in belonged to one of the victims. The motive for the killings was unclear.

“Locating this dangerous individual would not have been possible without the desire of the members of this agency to go above and beyond for the safety of our citizens,” Sebastian Police Chief Daniel Acosta said in a statement. “I am extremely proud of the teamwork displayed and hope the family of the victims can find closure to this horrific incident.”

Lemaster, 34, was held Tuesday at the Indian River County Jail on a fugitive from justice warrant out of Wilkinson County, Georgia. The Georgia Bureau of Investigation charged Lemaster with murder and aggravated assault, a news release showed.

Lemaster was held at the county jail without bond. He will be extradited to the Wilkinson County Jail, but it was unclear when, investigators said.

Lemaster recently went to live with his aunt and uncle – Pamela Ann Williams, 70, and Ricky Howard Williams, 74, on Elm Street in Gordon, Georgia. Gordon police found the couple dead inside their home on Monday, investigators said.

Gordon police asked the Georgia Bureau of Investigation for help in the double homicide case. The Georgia Bureau of Investigation then contacted Sebastian police asking for help to locate the suspect Lemaster, who is from Sebastian.

“The GBI advised they received information Lemaster was possibly in the city of Sebastian using the deceased victim’s car,” Sebastian police officers said.

Authorities later learned Lemaster has ties to a home in the 1400 block of Stonecrop Street, Sebastian.

Sebastian officers found the car across the street from the home. The Sebastian Police Special Response Team went to the scene, found Lemaster in the vehicle and detained him.

Lemaster was booked into the Indian River County Jail. When the double homicide investigation is complete, it will be turned over to the Ocmulgee Judicial Circuit District Attorney’s Office in Georgia for prosecution, officials said.

Further details on the double homicide were not available.

“This investigation remains active and ongoing,” Georgia Bureau of Investigation officials said.  “Anyone with information can submit tips by calling 1-800-597-TIPS (8477), online at https://gbi.georgia.gov/submit-tips-online, or by downloading the See Something, Send Something mobile app.”
