Vero Beach, FL (April 12, 2022) – VeroPride’s inaugural all-day pride festival, “Pride on the Block 2K22”, will be held on Sunday, June 26th in the alley of Kilted Mermaid starting at 2pm and ending at 11pm. The event will highlight and showcase the voices of the LGBTQIA+ community, with live entertainment by drag performers from around the state and some of the Treasure Coast’s favorite bands, as well as live music by DJ Frank-O.
“Over the past year, VeroPride has dramatically transformed into a nonprofit that simply wants to give a voice to the LGBTQIA+ community throughout Indian River County and beyond,” executive director of VeroPride, Pat Schlitt, expresses. “With all the negativity that queer folks and our allies are facing recently, this event will be a full-on celebration benefitting all people to just be who they are in a judgement-free and safe environment.”
PRIDE ON THE BLOCK 2K22 will take place in Vero Beach, FL, and is a free, all day event for folks of all ages to attend. Sponsorship and volunteer opportunities are available for all citizens and organizations looking to get involved in the inaugural event. Doors open at 2pm at Kilted Mermaid, with the festivities kicking off at 2:30pm hosted by RiPP LEE and Shelita Taylor. The festival will shift from an all ages event to an 18+ event at 7PM.
The free admission allows for people of all economical backgrounds to attend, leaving attendees to choose what they’d like to eat and drink. Kilted Mermaid will be serving food, beer and wine; accompanied by local favorite, Southern Social, who will also be providing food and beverages. There will be a charity liquor bar, in which all funds benefit VeroPride. This event will give attendees an all access pass to party with some of the biggest names on the Treasure Coast.
