A Lighthearted Janet Kipp Tribus shows new work at the Center for Spiritual Care
The joy-filled paintings of Janet Kipp Tribus will be shown Mar. 4-28 at the Center for Spiritual Care in Vero Beach. Her exhibition, entitled “Black, White and Red All Over,” will be open by appointment daily between 10 and 4.
The show opens Friday, Mar. 4, with an artist’s reception open to the public from 5 to 7. Viewings can be arranged by calling 772-567-1233. The Center is located at 1550 24th St., at the corner of 16th Avenue and 24th Street.
Feelings of freedom, flexibility, even childlike boldness characterize Tribus’s new paintings, says Center director Carol Ludwig, along with her trademark sense of humor and wonder.
“These are especially exuberant works by one of the most upbeat and able artists on the Treasure Coast,” Ludwig says. “Her new black-and-whites are show stoppers.”
Tribus has lived and worked in Vero Beach for more than 20 years. She began painting by recording New Jersey farm country images en plein air. Today, she paints in her studio from the world of her imagination.
“And every new painting proves just how playful and droll Janet’s imagination is,” Ludwig says.
