VERO BEACH – ChamberFest Vero Beach is a new chamber music festival that integrates world-class performances with engaging hands-on workshops and thought-provoking discussions. Held in the idyllic beachside town of Vero Beach Florida, the festival runs from Feb. 5-11 with free public performances at the First Presbyterian Church Vero Beach on Thursday Feb. 8, Friday Feb. 9 and Saturday Feb. 10 at 7:30 p.m.
The mission at ChamberFest Vero Beach is to provide the community with an opportunity to experience the creative process of music making. Throughout the week there will be curated interactive lectures, educational seminars for talented young students, a weekend amateur chamber music intensive workshop and intimate performances by internationally acclaimed artists.
The festival seeks to break down the formal barriers between artists and amateurs and encourage a discussion about the interconnectedness of music with the world-at-large.
The 2018 Festival Artists have performed internationally to widespread critical acclaim, and are currently members and leaders of institutions such as the Chamber Music Society of Lincoln Center, the Chamber Music Conference of the East, the Composers Conference and Chamber Music Workshop at Wellesley College and the Panama Jazz and New Music Festivals.
They include pianist and composer, Michael Brown; violinist and violist, Yuri Namkung; cellist Tobias Werner; and Artistic Director and violinist, Jessica Tong.
