The St John’s Fine Arts Series is proud to present organists Ryan Kasten & The Rev. Father Brian Campbell on Sunday, August 22, 2021, at 4:00PM. Ryan has been on staff at St. John’s since 2016, where he oversees the music program and fine arts series. And the Series especially excited to welcome our new pastor Father Brian Campbell, who is also an accomplished organist not only to the Parish but also to the music scene of Vero Beach. Father Campbell and Ryan Kasten both believe in a solid traditional music program and are actively researching how to continue to develop the already solid program to become one of the finest in Treasure Coast and within the Diocese of West Palm. The organ program will include works by Bach, Duruflé, Vierne, Elgar, and a few other great composers of organ literature. For more information, please contact Beth Shestak, Administrative Assistant.
Artist Biographies:
Ryan Kasten, Director of Music/Organist, is originally from Jackson, Missouri. Ryan holds the Bachelor of Music degree in Organ Performance from Southeast Missouri State University, the Master of Music Degree in Organ Performance from the University of Nebraska-Lincoln, the Master of Music Degree in Conducting from the Florida State University, and he is a Candidate for the Doctoral Degree in Organ Performance at the Florida State University. Ryan is truly an accomplished musician, not only as an organist and conductor, but also is a sought-after accompanist and accomplished baritone soloist. Ryan is a member of the Knights of Columbus and is a Fourth Degree Knight. Currently, he is serving as the Program Director for the Knights of Columbus Council at St. John of the Cross. He is also the Artistic Director of the Paradise Master Chorale which will make its debut this fall as part of the Concert Series at St. John’s. Ryan is also the Public Affairs Administrator for the Honorable Carole Jean Jordan at the Indian River County Tax Collector’s Office, and oversees 501c3 non-profit organization Kid’s Tag Art of Indian River, Inc.
Father Brian Campbell originally hails from the State of Illinois where he grew up as a young child until his family moved to the Naples area in the late 1980’s. Growing up in Southwest Florida, Fr. Campbell enjoys boating, swimming, running and various outdoor activities as well as travel. After graduating High School, Father attended Franciscan University of Steubenville, Ohio, where he received a bachelor’s degree in Philosophy and Theology in 2002. During that time, he was discerning a vocation to the ministerial priesthood and in 2003 became a Seminarian for the Diocese of Palm Beach, FL. As a seminarian he completed some important assignments for priestly training. These assignments included a year of Pre-Theology at St. John Vianney Seminary in Miami followed by four years of graduate theology at Notre Dame Seminary in New Orleans, where he graduated with an M.Div. in 2009. Fr. Campbell was ordained by Bishop Barbarito to the Priesthood on May 2, 2009 and has served at St. Patrick Church in Palm Beach Gardens (2009-20012), St. Vincent Ferrer Church in Delray Beach (2012-2015), Chaplain to Pope John Paul II High School (2012-2013), Our Lady Queen of the Apostles in Royal Palm Beach (2015-2019), the Latin Mass Community of Holy Spirit Church in Lantana (2009-2019) and writing Sunday Word articles in The Florida Catholic Newspaper since 2015.
