The Source Expansion Results in Two New Hires
Anthony Zorbaugh, Executive Director of The Source, is pleased to announce two new additions to the staff of the non-profit organization who helps the homeless and needy individuals of Indian River County.
Anne Larkey has been appointed Operations Manager, in charge of overseeing the day-to-day activities of The Source, their staff and clients, as well as maintaining and expanding the organization’s policies and procedures.
Ms. Larkey comes to The Source following an eight year tenure with United Against Poverty- Indian River County. During that period Ms. Larkey handled a variety of responsibilities behind the scenes before taking over as Director of Operations and Safety, implementing safety guidelines, insurance and compliance of equipment, as well as assisting in implementing their capital campaigns. She is a life-long resident of Vero Beach.
Also joining the staff is Jade Alexander as Employment Specialist. Formerly Program Coordinator for the Treasure Coast Food Bank, Ms. Alexander began her five-year stint initially as an intern, following her graduation from Indian River State College with a degree in Human Services. In her capacity at the food bank, Jade began working with the homeless and needy, assisting senior clients with applying for Medicaid and SNAP. She then moved into her role as Program Coordinator facilitating meal programs such as summer feeding, afterschool meals, and coordinating meal programs for holiday periods. She also worked closely with other partnering agencies ensuring compliance in record-keeping, equitable food distributions and food safety.
In her new capacity, Ms. Alexander is working alongside the Mental Health Counselor on the curriculum for The Source’s clients joining the Dignity with Dining program which allows them to learn on-the-job culinary training, ultimately receiving a certification to obtain a job within the food industry. She works closely with each new client, assisting them in the program, offering life skills lessons on professionalism and accountability, as well as assisting them on properly preparing for a job interview and finding a suitable position.
The Source, a Christian Ministry Outreach Center, offers life-changing possibilities to residents in crisis; offers emergency hunger relief, clothing, counseling, support groups, hygiene items, laundry services and much more.
