David Daniel Bowen, Sr., 85, Vero Beach

David “Dave” Daniel Bowen, Sr., 85, of Vero Beach, died suddenly on Monday, Dec. 21, 2020. Dave was born to the late David John Bowen and Elizabeth Smith on June 18, 1935.

He was raised in Pine Hill, N.J., served in the U.S. Navy on the USS Hammerberg, and received the National Defense Service Medal.

In his early years, Dave was a Semi Truck Driver, and a diesel mechanic for Atlantic City Transportation. He later enjoyed his time as a Limo Driver for Steve Winn at the Golden Nugget, and also for Donald Trump at the Taj Mahal Casinos in Atlantic City, N.J.

Dave was a member of the Inlet Social Club in Atlantic City, NJ. He was an avid Horseman, who loved all things outdoors: fishing, hunting, and boating. His passion was being on the water and watching sports. Dave was funny, quick-witted, and always had a joke ready for anyone.

Dave was predeceased by his brother, Charles Bowen and Grandson David Daniel Bowen, III.

He is survived by his loving, devoted wife of 67 years, Jane; his sister, Betty (Charles) Weber; his children, Jayne (James) Campbell, Barbara (Carl) Mutschler, David (Catherine) Bowen Jr., and Charles (Dawn) Bowen; as well as 12 grandchildren, 22 great-grandchildren, cousins, nieces, nephews, and many dear friends.

Olga Ravetto, 97, Vero Beach

Olga Ravetto, 97, passed away peacefully at her home in Vero Beach on Dec. 21, 2020. She was loved by all and will be missed by many. Olga Seletti was born in Rondissone, Italia, and lived in New York before moving to Vero Beach where she lived for 40 years.

The Seletti family immigrated to New York and opened the famous restaurant Maria’s in New York City.

In 1946 Olga married Harris Ravetto and together with family they opened the highly acclaimed Ravetto’s Restaurant in Granite Springs, N.Y.

Olga was a competitive golfer, a club champion who shot 3 holes-in-one, loved the opera and ballet, was a great chef, world class seamstress, and avid story teller.

Survivors include her sons, John Ravetto (Christine) and Peter Ravetto (Alison); grandchildren, Mark Ravetto (Lori), Nicole Ravetto, and Alexandra (Lexi) Ravetto; and great-grandchildren Harrison and Tristan.

Olga was preceded in death by her parents, Ernest and Maria Seletti; brother, John Seletti; and loving husband, Harris Ravetto.

Memorial services and internment will be at a later date in Somers, NY.

Arrangements are under the direction of Strunk Funeral Home and Crematory, Vero Beach.
