More than $4,600 worth of flooring tiles were taken from a home site on the island currently under construction in Orchid Cove.
Authorities were called to the construction this week after an employee of the flooring company hired to perform work discovered the tile pallets missing from the garage of the house.
There were 30 boxes of 13 x 13 tiles worth $3,000, 40 boxes of 18 x 18 tiles worth $900, and 13 boxes of 12 x 24 tiles worth $744, according to the case report.
The contractor couldn’t provide any suspect information but told the responding deputy that whoever took the tile must have had pallet lifting equipment.
