Clifford Lee Hess, 69, Sebastian

Clifford Lee “Cliff” Hess, 69, of Sebastian, passed away peacefully on July 24, 2019, at home in Sebastian, after a courageous battle with cancer. He was born Feb. 20, 1950, in Memphis, Tenn., to Homer Lee and Martha Walker Hess.

He started Customer Service Electrical Supply, a very successful business in Knoxville, Tenn., with his longtime friend Mike Edwards.

He was married to his best friend and the love of his life, Patti, and they traveled the world together, making wonderful memories and meeting many, many incredible friends.

Cliff is survived by his beloved wife, Patti; his son, Brook (Misuk) Hess; step-daughter, Deedra Garrison; grandson, Tyler (Paige) Garrison; grandson, Jason Hess; great-grandson, Miles Garrison; sister, Rosalyn Hess; sister, Abbey (Dan) Evans; nephews, Leland and Will Evans; and niece, Adrian Evans.

Cliff’s family wishes to extend sincere thanks to Dr. Diely Pichardo, of Cancer Care Center of Brevard, and Dr. Edgard Chavez.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to the American Cancer Society.

Memorial arrangements will be completed at a later date.

 

Jeremy Saint McAuliffe, 26, Vero Beach

Jeremy Saint McAuliffe, 26, of Vero Beach, passed away July 21, 2019.

Visitation was held at Strunk Funeral Home, Vero Beach. A prayer service was held in the funeral home chapel. A Mass of Christian Burial followed at St. Helen Catholic Church.

 

Mary Anne (Maher) Skiscim, 93, Vero Beach

Mary Anne (Maher) Skiscim, 93, a lifelong resident of Vero Beach, left her family and friends to receive her heavenly reward with Christ on Friday, July 26, 2019. She was born May 5, 1926, to Gertrude and Lawrence Maher.

Mary Anne was a lifelong member of St. Helen Catholic Church where she and her husband, Wally, nurtured and instilled strong Christian values that their children carry with them today. Mary Anne was an active member of her church and community.

It has been said that never was a mother more loved by her children and never were children more loved by their mother. Mary Anne had a place in her heart for everyone and was always welcoming with warm hugs and even warmer smiles.

She is survived by her loving husband of 72 years, Wally; and her seven children, Trudy (Rob) Dulmage, Patty (Lee) Flemming, Margy (Brooke) Moore, Anne (David) Walters, Michael, Toni (Bob) Flaherty, and Liz (Bryan) Singleton; 13 grandchildren; and 15 great-grandchildren with more on the way.

Mary Anne was preceded in death by her parents, Gertrude and Lawrence Maher; and her brother, Larry Maher, Jr., all of Vero Beach.

The family would be honored if you would join them in the celebration of her life on Thursday, Aug. 1, at 10 a.m. at St. Helen Catholic Church. The family will receive friends at 9:30 a.m. in the church before the mass. Interment will follow the service at Crestlawn Cemetery.

The family would like to thank Lesley Shuler for her dedication, commitment and love for Mary Anne. We would also like to thank Brookdale South Memory Care and Visiting Nurses Association/Hospice for their love and care.

In lieu of flowers, contributions can be made to VNA Hospice.

 

Mary Janet Wheeler, 76, Vero Beach

Mary Janet Wheeler, 76, of Vero Beach, passed away on July 26, 2019.

She was a true gypsy spirit and true loves were art and photography. Mary graduated from Florida State University in 1964.

She enjoyed 53 years of marriage to her beloved husband, Richard John Wheeler, Jr., who recently passed away in 2016.

Mary is survived by her two sons, Paul and Rick; three grandchildren, Katie, Jacob and Charlie; sister, Brenda Brown; adopted soul-sister, EJ Vaughn Ballenger; and two dogs, Snowy and Winston.

We love you and peace be with you.

A visitation will be held 2-3 p.m., Tuesday, July 30, with a funeral service following at 3 p.m. at Thomas S. Lowther Funeral Home & Crematory, 1655 27th Street, Vero Beach, FL 32960.
