Hours & Address: Monday to Saturday, dinner from 4 p.m. to 9 p.m.
2045 13th Ave, Vero Beach 32960 | Phone: 772-213-3842
What and Where: When we first lunched in the courtyard garden across from Vero’s downtown Post Office, we thought, ‘What a charming dining spot.’ Fifteen years and three eateries later, a restaurant is finally delivering on the promise. We’ve become big fans of Tuohy Downtown’s new American dishes. Finally, this venue has a winner!
Ambiance/Atmosphere: Great ambience, and food to match.
Must-Try Dishes: Meatloaf! Pork chop!
Adult Beverages: Cocktails, and a short but impressive (and
fairly priced) wine selection by both bottle and glass.
Reservations: Only for five or more.
Price: $$-$$$
Rating: Four stars
Overall Verdict: Tuohy’s Downtown is a great choice if you are looking to dine in a casual, relaxed setting. While you can enjoy tasty soups and delicious salads, flatbreads and burgers, this is much more than a gastropub. The entrees prepared by Chef Sean Tuohy make this one of Vero’s finest restaurants. If you like meatloaf, Chef Sean’s is better than mom’s. And his grilled pork chop finished with apple butter is incredible. Chef Sean and his sisters bring an obvious passion to this restaurant, and it rubs off on the staff (special kudos to our favorite server LaToya). Try Tuohy’s soon.
