The delightful and impressive works of young artists transformed Sebastian River High School March 5 as hundreds of families, friends and fellow students filled the Sharks’ gym and Performing Arts Center for the annual School District of Indian River County SDIRC Superintendent’s Art Gallery, “Art Under the Stars.”

Overseen by district Senior Digital Innovation Administer Kerri Wall, the colorful event showcased artists from 19 elementary, middle and high schools throughout Indian River County displayed enormous skill and creativity as they presented works in a wide variety of subjects and media, including traditional, digital, 2D and 3D, from turtles to race cars.

Highlight of the evening was the awards ceremony, emceed by Wall, with awards presentation by District Superintendent Dr. David Moore. Each school’s art teacher escorted his or her student artists onto the stage, where each was greeted by Moore. As each winner – third, second, first — was announced, his/her winning work and its title were projected on a large screen for the audience to enjoy and applaud (which they did with great enthusiasm).
