Hours & Address: Dinner daily at 5 pm
3103 Cardinal Drive, Vero Beach 32963 | Phone: (772) 234-3966

What and Where: This will be The Tides final season in Central Beach for a couple of years. Vero’s top fine dining spot expects to move to a temporary home just south of Riomar by April 1. But Chef Leanne Kelleher – who created and has overseen The Tides for a quarter century – says it will return to Cardinal after a new home is erected.

Ambiance/Atmosphere: Vero’s venerable best for fine dining.

Must-Try Dishes: Fresh pompano (when available) is a favorite.

Adult Beverages: Full bar; excellent wine selection.

Reservations: Don’t try going without one.

Price: $$$$

Rating: Five stars

Overall Verdict: While the dishes at The Tides have long been consistently wonderful, much of this restaurant’s success over the years has to do with making patrons feel like family. From Chef Leanne, to über-host Claudia Arens, to the well-trained, attentive and personable servers, you feel you are dining in a restaurant where everyone really cares. This small town gem would be a big winner in a big city as well. No wonder The Tides – which is not inexpensive – is packed every night.
