ABOUT THE EVENT: 

The American Cancer Society (ACS) Indian River County is pleased to announce the 5th Annual Denim & Diamonds Hope Gala, by presented by The Bernard A. Egan Foundation to be held at Magnolia Manor, Vero Beach on December 5, 2025 

The 2025 Honoree is 12-year-old Ramie Darling, son of Ramie and Katie Darling of Darling Construction, Vero Beach. Ramie was diagnosed with stage IV liver cancer when he was only 9 years old. He has endured 3 cancer diagnosis, chemotherapy, immunotherapy and a liver transplant. His treatment was administered in Boston over a period of more than 2 years. Ramie is now more than a year cancer free. He and his family are passionate about sharing their story to help raise funds for pediatric cancer research. After Ramie’s story is shared by video, a Call to the Heart will ask guests to raise their paddles pledging donations for pediatric cancer research. 

Highlights of the event include entertainment by Nashville singer/song writer Kurt Stevens during the cocktail hour. After dinner, live auction and call to the heart, the celebration begins with party band Riptide.  

American Cancer Society’s gala engages supporters in our community whose generous donations allow the American Cancer Society to fulfill its mission.

The Denim & Diamonds 2025 event is under the direction of co-chairs Karen Franke and Mike Lafferty. The committee includes Executive Ambassadors Jennifer Peshke and Christine Ryall. The Event Planning Team includes Kelly Cambron, Daniella Diminich, Amy Hass, Alyse Katz, Debra Levasseur, Shannon Norvig, Neal Watkins.
