Located in the heart of Vero Beach, in the pleasant, shady Tropic Villas North neighborhood, this airy and recently updated townhome at 1170 6th Ave., Apt. 10A is bright and charming.

Through a gate in the privacy fence, you’ll enter the spacious private patio, which you can immediately envision as the go-to for relaxing, soaking up a bit of Florida sun, enjoying an al fresco meal and socializing with friends. Adding colorful natural beauty to this already inviting space is a large, robust bougainvillea adorning the fence with vibrant, deep pink flowers.

From here, an elegant, forest green front door centered with a glass oval opens into the light and airy central space.

Immediately ahead, between the living room to the left and the dining room and kitchen to the right, is a beautiful open stairway leading to the second-floor bedrooms.

The lines and angles of the lustrous dark wood handrails, balusters, and trim create dramatic contrast to the soft, dove-gray carpeting on the treads and risers. This artistic interior design element is showcased by natural light flowing down from a skylight in the second level ceiling.

From the main entrance, the newly updated luxe vinyl plank flooring flows to the right, the perfect grounding for the whisper pale pastels of the freshly painted interior, white millwork and crisp white kitchen cabinets.

Past the dining space, a strategically placed mirror wall creates depth and reflects light. A long white Formica counter/snack bar separates the dining room from the open U-shaped kitchen.
Simple white cabinetry, dark range, stainless steel dishwasher and fridge, and deep single-basin, black composition sink with single, arched faucet add sophistication. Illumination is provided by long fluorescent lights behind translucent covers, running above the entire 3-sided counter.

Ambient light flows in through wide glass sliders at the kitchen’s far end, which open onto the patio.

Left from the entrance, the spacious living/family room shares the soft carpeting of the staircase.

Here, you’ll find another wide, glass slider wall that provides access to the patio, creating a terrific space with great flow for all sorts of inside/outside entertaining.

Just off the dining room is a clever laundry/half-bath/powder room combo, with grass-green wall covering, a sleek little single-basin sink, full mirror, and pale gray vanity with marquee light strip above. There’s also a full-size washer and dryer beneath a couple of storage shelves that can disappear behind a pretty little curtain.

Upstairs, the principal bedroom features a mirrored slider walk-in closet; ceiling fan; soft carpeting; and a wide glass slider to a Juliet balcony with a green neighborhood view. Vertical blinds offer light control and privacy, and the closet’s mirrored front enhances the feeling of space and light in the room.

The stylish primary bathroom is a beauty in shades of soft gray. The long, gray vanity includes plenty of storage and has a gray Formica top and backsplash, two white oval basins with sleek, single-fixture faucets, and a marquee light strip above. A tall, slender linen closet sits behind a lace curtain.

The star of the bathroom is the large, modern shower, fully glass on front and side, with both rain-shower and handheld heads. Adjacent to the shower is the loo, above which is a storage unit with closed cabinet and open shelves. There’s also a tall corner storage unit.

The second bedroom offers a mirrored slider closet, soft carpet, woven-blade ceiling fan and wide glass sliders that open to its own Juliet balcony.

The bathroom here is a cheerful, one-of-a-kind delight. Within a wide alcove, you’ll find the same gray vanity with a single white basin. But here the walls are a bold, cheerful yellow! Above the yellow wall is a wide strip in flag blue, adorned with yellow moon and stars.

On the other side of the alcove wall is the loo and a tub/shower. Here the colors transition to cream shades.

Just off of Indian River Boulevard, Tropic Villas is only minutes from Cleveland Clinic medical facilities, shopping centers, and the downtown restaurant, pub and art gallery district. A quick trip across one of Vero’s two bridges takes you the town’s famous island village, with fine and casual dining, elite boutiques and beach shops, resorts, country clubs, marinas, parks, a USTA run city tennis center, live theater, an outstanding fine art museum and miles of clean, uncrowded beaches.
