Shelley Ilene Klopschinsky, 71, Florida

July 7, 1954 – August 28, 2025

In loving memory of Shelley Ilene Klopschinsky, who peacefully joined her sons in heaven, Edward and Steven, on August 28th, 2025. Shelley was a loving mother, grandmother, great grandmother, wife, sister, aunt and cherished friend.

Shelley was born on July 7th, 1954 and lived to be 71 years young. She retired from Spartan Family Foods and made her journey to Florida where she reconnected with Ken.   Together, they loved to travel, taking many cruises and enjoying each other’s company. One of Shelley’s greatest prides in life were her grandchildren. Shelley got to spend a wonderful vacation just a month before her passing with the whole family at one of her favorite places, the cabin.

Shelley leaves behind her loving sister Marsha, grandchildren Allison, Edward, Kody, Kyle and Kloey, great-grandchildren Addelyn, Parker and unborn baby boy, her loving partner Ken, and all their combined family.

Shelley was proceeded in death by her parents, her sister Jennifer, and her sons Ed and Steve.

We will miss you terribly, until next time, love you always.

It was Shelley’s wish to not have a service and will be laid to rest following her cremation.

Maria Teresa Hernandez, 84, Sebastian

July 2, 1941 – September 7, 2025

Maria Teresa Hernandez, 84, of Sebastian, passed peacefully on Sunday, September 7 in her home.

Teresa was born in Adjuntas, Puerto Rico to Rufino Soto and Juana Torres. When she was a teenager, the family relocated to Bronx, New York. There she met and married Raul Hernandez, her spouse of 62 years. She was a stay-at-home mom for 15 years before she entered the workforce making belts and was a member of the International Ladies Garments Workers Union. When her husband retired, they relocated to Sebastian. Teresa was known best for her love of family and gardening. She didn’t just grow the common mango, orange, and avocado trees. She also grew cinnamon, lychee, cashews, almonds, soursop, sugar apples, and many other plants and trees. Teresa was also an excellent seamstress who sewed the items that adorned her home. She made her own curtains, tablecloths, bedspreads, and clothing.  But nothing was more important to her than spending time with family. She loved having large family gatherings and cooking traditional Puerto Rican meals for those she loved.

Teresa is survived by her husband Raul Hernandez, daughter Maria Minerva Hernandez, granddaughter Angela Maria Jawhar, great-grandsons, Jahsiyah Murray and Elijah Murray, sisters Anna Badillo and Cruz Maria Oquendo, brothers Luis Armando Torres, George Antonio Oquendo, and Pedro Antonio Oquendo, and many nieces, nephews, great-nieces, and great-nephews.

The family will receive friends on Wednesday, September 10th from 1:00 to 3:00 at Seawinds Funeral Home in Sebastian followed by a Prayer Service.

Helen Margaret Gulyas (Ringler), 86, Sebastian

September 2, 1938 – August 29, 2025

Helen Margaret Gulyas (Ringler), a devoted Christian and follower of Jesus, peacefully went home to our Lord and Savior after a short illness on the 29th of August 2025 at the age of 86.  She was surrounded by family.

Helen was born on September 2, 1938 in Philadelphia, PA.  She married the love of her life, Calvin, on October 1, 1960. They had 2 children, Barbara Ann and Peter Alan, and lived in Huntington Valley, PA until making the move to Sebastian, FL in 1998.

Helen was always a cheerful and helpful person known for her beautiful smile and sense of humor and was adored by everyone that knew her.  She was an expert baker who delighted everyone with delicious treats. Helen was also a fantastic hairdresser and spent many afternoons cutting hair and doing perms for her friends.

A member of Berachah Church of Cheltenham, PA, Helen served as a Sunday school teacher, choir member and a leader for the Pioneer Girls. Her life was a testament to the love of Christ—marked by kindness, generosity, and unwavering faith.

Helen is survived by her loving husband of 64 years, Calvin, her Daughter Barbara (David) Brown, her son Peter (Peggy) and her grandchildren, Jennifer (Austin) Hartsfield, Stacy, Alan and A.J., her sister Carol, sisters-in-law Ruth Ann and Susan, brothers-in-law Raymond and Thomas, along with many nieces and nephews.

A memorial service will be held on Wednesday, September 17, 2025 from 2-4PM at Seawinds Funeral Home, Sebastian, FL. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to VNA Hospice of Vero Beach, FL.

Joseph Steven Vermuth, 91, Micco

May 15, 1934 – September 15, 2025

Joseph Steven Vermuth, age 91, of Micco, Florida, passed away on September 15, 2025. He was born on May 15, 1934, in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. Joseph graduated from Roman Catholic High School in Philadelphia and later earned an Associate’s Degree from Burlington County College in New Jersey.

Joseph proudly served in the United States Coast Guard for 21 years, retiring as a Chief Petty Officer, during which time he traveled extensively around the world. He married his Jersey Shore sweetheart, Maude Endress, and together they shared 64 wonderful years of marriage. After retirement from the Coast Guard, Joseph began a 20 year career with the State of New Jersey.

Joseph was a member of St. Luke Catholic Church, a proud Mason brother, a member of the Moose Lodge, and worked as a chef for the Garden State Gun Club. Joseph was also an active member of the Sebastian Travel Club. He enjoyed golfing, fishing, gardening, and traveling, and he stayed active well into his later years by participating in Silver Sneakers and as a member of the Indian River Fitness Club. He was proud to give back to his community through his work at Uncle Bill’s Fish Market and as a dedicated volunteer at the Grant Seafood Festival.

A lifelong Philadelphia sports fan, Joseph loved cheering for the Phillies and the Eagles. Most of all, he cherished his family. He is survived by his children: Kimberly (and her husband, David), Sherri ( and her husband Greg), Michael (and his wife, Martha), Laurie, and Kristy (and her husband, Bill); ten grandchildren; and eleven great-grandchildren. When asked how he would like to be remembered, Joseph said, “I tried to live a good life. I love all my family.”

The family will receive friends from 3:00 pm until 4:00 pm. Friday, September 19, 2025 followed by Military Honors and a Prayer Service beginning at 4:00 p.m. Joseph will be laid to rest at Cape Canaveral National Cemetery.

Kathleen Roberts, 69, Sebastian

August 2, 1956 – September 18, 2025

In Loving Memory of Kathleen Roberts

Kathleen Roberts, 69, of the Park Place community in Sebastian, Florida, passed away on September 18, 2025. She was born on August 2, 1956, and throughout her life she was known for her service, her kindness, and her vibrant spirit.

Kathleen dedicated many years of her life to serving her country. She served  in the United States Air Force. Kathy also served in the United States Navy, where she retired with the rank of Lieutenant. Her military career reflected her patriotism, discipline, and unwavering commitment to others.

Kathleen was a devoted sister and friend. She is survived by her beloved friend, Clara Beyer; her sister, Corinne Kittka, and her husband Jeff; and her brothers, Chris Roberts and his wife Nancy, and Scott Roberts and his wife Jennifer. She was also a loving aunt to ten nieces and nephews, all of whom will cherish her memory.

Beyond her service and family, Kathleen lived life with joy. She enjoyed playing volleyball, dart baseball, attending community shows, and gathering with friends for bingo. Whether in competition or community, she brought warmth and laughter to those around her.

Kathleen will be remembered not only for her accomplishments, but also for the way she made others feel valued and cared for. Her legacy is one of service, loyalty, and love.

A celebration of life is being planned and will be announced at a later date.
