A full orchestra, more than 30 performers in costume, and a classic American story will fill the Vero Beach High School Performing Arts Center with music and nostalgia Sunday afternoon, Aug. 17, when the Space Coast Symphony Orchestra partners with Central Florida Vocal Arts for a concert version of Meredith Wilson’s “The Music Man.” The performance at 1707 16th St. features full musical backing, a large cast, and timeless songs like “Seventy-Six Trombones,” “Til There Was You” and “Ya Got Trouble.” Set in 1912, “The Music Man” follows Harold Hill, a fast-talking traveling salesman who poses as a music professor to sell instruments and uniforms to unsuspecting townspeople. Leading the cast are Christopher Fahmie as Harold Hill and McKenzie Pollock as Marian. Finn Dancaescu plays Winthrop. The concert performance also includes a barbershop quartet performing the show’s signature harmony pieces. It is led by Space Coast Symphony’s artistic director and conductor Aaron T. Collins. The concert begins at 3 p.m. Tickets are $35 in advance or $40 at the door. Admission is free for students and those 18 and under with ID. For more information, call 855-252-7276.
