It begins with “Howl at the Moon,” a high-energy evening of dining, dancing, and sing-alongs running from 6:30 p.m. to 9 p.m. on Thursday, Aug. 7. This audience-favorite dueling pianos show brings spontaneous laughter, great music, and a celebratory atmosphere that’s perfect for date nights, birthdays, or just a fun evening with friends. Seating is casual, with table seats available for $25 and side seats for $15. The show is recommended for those at least 18 years old. There’s no drink minimum, and parking is free. Shows last approximately two and a half hours.

Riverside’s Live in the Loop concert series is busy again this weekend. Eastern Standard Time performs from 5:30 p.m. to 8 p.m. on Thursday, Aug. 7. Known for their genre-bending jazz fusion, this Treasure Coast-based quartet led by saxophonist Tanner Goulet blends jazz, funk and pop influences. As Riverside’s website states: “From the blazing solos of Mike Stern to the timeless elegance of John Coltrane – and even the unexpected pop punch of Katy Perry—you never know what smooth surprises EST will deliver.” Klassik Reggae performs from 5:30 p.m. to 8 p.m. on Friday, Aug. 8. This group, made up of musicians from the Caribbean islands of Dominica, St. Vincent and the Bahamas, delivers an island sound, blending reggae with soulful rhythms. The Checkmate Band performs from 5:30 p.m. to 8 p.m. on Saturday, Aug. 9. Vocalist Quinn Hendershot is often compared to Bob Seger and the group has performed on national tours. Their set will include classic rock favorites and high-octane originals. The Live in the Loop concert series is an outdoor experience, so bring a chair. It’s free but food or drink is available for purchase. Table service begins at 5 p.m. The venue is welcoming to all ages, although outside food, beverages, and pets are not allowed, with the exception of certified service dogs.

Riverside Theatre’s Comedy Zone presents standup comics Greg Hall and Kathy McSteen this weekend, with shows starting at 6:30 p.m. and 8:30 p.m. on both Friday, Aug. 8, and Saturday, Aug. 9. Hall, a Nashville-based performer, has built a three-decade career blending witty songwriting and sharp humor. The Tennessean calls him “probably the best guitar player in comedy.” A winner of a Kennedy Center award for Outstanding Achievement in Musical Composition, Hall began his career in Texas. “In college I wrote the score for a Garcia Lorca play on an old Gibson Blue Ridge 12 string,” he says. Opening the show is Kathy McSteen, a five-time finalist in Visani’s “First Comic Standing” competition. She has performed at venues like the Venice Theatre, Sarasota Classic Car Museum, North Port’s Common Grounds Performance Hall and Lemon Bay Playhouse. Doors open at 6 p.m. for dinner service. The kitchen closes at 9 p.m., and audiences can enjoy a menu of burgers, seafood, chicken, salads, ice cream and a full bar. Table seats are $25 and side seats are $15.

Riverside also puts focus on the younger set with its “Playtime in the Park – Theatre Edition.” The free, interactive show is designed for children 2 to 5 years of age. It is free and runs from 11 a.m. to 11:30 a.m. on Aug. 9 on the outdoor Loop Stage. Kids are invited to participate in stories through movement and creativity, sparking imagination and laughter. No tickets are required, and families are encouraged to arrive a bit early to find a comfortable spot. Riverside Theatre is at 3250 Riverside Park Dr., Vero Beach.
