Crowds flock to Hands Off protest against Trump, Musk in Vero Beach

VERO BEACH — More than 2,000 people gathered Saturday in Vero Beach to protest President Trump and Elon Musk over policies targeting Social Security, Medicare and Medicaid, federal employees, schools, undocumented immigrants and health and human services. The local protest was part of a nationwide movement called Hands Off!, which claims that Trump and Musk are carrying out an "assault on our government, economy and basic rights." Police ID Vero Beach passenger killed in fatal crash; search continues for driver

VERO BEACH — Police on Tuesday identified the passenger killed in a vehicle crash earlier this week as Crystina Atkinson, 26, of Vero Beach. Now, officers are asking anyone with information on the unidentified driver who left the site of the wreckage - where Atkinson's body was entrapped - to come forward. The driver will face charges including leaving the scene of an accident involving death, said Officer Kelsea Callahan, a spokesperson for the Vero Beach Police Department.
