A 70-year-old Indian River Shores man facing prison for repeatedly having sex with a teenager as part of a “sex slave” contract now has been charged with plotting to kill his victim.

A tip from a relative led deputies to Andrew Michael Mustapick, described by authorities as a wealthy computer technician and director of Andrew M. Mustapick Enterprises, Inc., and an undercover detective posing as a “hit man” met with Mustapick several times over the last few weeks leading to his May 5 arrest, according to the Indian River County Sheriff’s Office.

Police say Mustapick paid the hit man $40,000 to extort the woman not to testify in the unlawful sexual activity with a minor case. On Jan. 27, Mustapick pled no contest to the original charge and was given a sentencing date for June 6, Sheriff Eric Flowers said.

Then, Mustapick offered to pay an extra $50,000 to have the woman killed if she refused to comply.

“It would be easier … cheaper just to (expletive) kill her,” Mustapick said in body camera footage worn by the undercover detective during a visit to Mustapick’s home. “Right?”

“His plan was to withdraw the plea deal and then if the victim is no longer here, he would essentially get sentenced to nothing,” Flowers said. “Our belief is that he was bent up about the (prospect of 10 years probation) in the sex offender case. That’s what he wanted to get out of.”

Mustapick, of the 1000 block of Morningside Drive, was charged with two counts of soliciting another to tamper with a victim, and unlawful use of a two-way communications device. He was being held at the Indian River County Jail without bond.

“(Mustapick’s) a wealthy guy. He was prepared to pay to have this person killed. This guy is an absolute animal,” Flowers said during a May 6 news conference. “Thank you to the person who came forward. We would not be here today if it weren’t for that person.”

The original case unfolded Aug. 17, 2021, when the 17-year-old contacted Indian River County deputies to report a sexual battery in June 2020. The juvenile told deputies she met Mustapick through her friend, who was 19 years old at the time. The 17-year-old told deputies Mustapick did not know her age, reports show.

Mustapick agreed to purchase the 19-year-old friend a car – a white 2017 Volkswagen Jetta – in exchange for sexual favors, deputies said.

The three drove to the Sunrise Volkswagen of Fort Pierce to purchase the vehicle, reports show. Then, they all drove back to Mustapick’s barrier island home.

Mustapick performed sexual acts on the 17-year-old while the 19-year-old refused and instead waited in the garage.

Mustapick made the 17-year-old sign a contract stating she would be his sex slave twice a week – Mondays and Fridays – for the next five years, reports show. The contract also detailed the hours the teenager needed to spend with Mustapick and outlined the sexual acts she was expected to perform.

Deputies said the 17-year-old drove back to Mustapick’s residence two more times to perform sexual acts. Then, Mustapick took the vehicle back when the teenager stopped coming to his residence.

In March, deputies learned Mustapick was planning to hire a person to kill the woman. An undercover detective met with Mustapick several times at his home.

On May 5, deputies captured Mustapick traveling twice on U.S. 1 to the bridge over the St. Sebastian River and tossing a laptop, hard drive and other electronic items below into the water.

The St. Lucie County Sheriff’s Office dive team recovered the items from the river, Flowers said.
Mustapick’s arraignment on the murder-for-hire charges is set for July 10 as the criminal investigation continues.
