Coming Up! ‘Ballet Under the Stars’ raises funds with flair

Ballet Vero Beach will host its elegant Ballet Under the Stars fundraiser beginning at 6 p.m. Friday, April 25, at Tree House Vero Beach 8010 43rd Ave. The evening will feature live and silent auctions, gourmet bites and refreshments, a performance by the acclaimed ballet company, and dancing to the sounds of the Dave Capp Project. Downtown Vero Beach will transform into a disco wonderland from 6 p.m. to 9 p.m. Friday, April 25, for Downtown Disco. Hosted along 14th Avenue, this free event features live music by the funky and soulful band Soultime, plus a variety of local vendors, food trucks, beer and wine. Friday and Saturday, April 25-26, Riverside Theatre keeps the energy high with its Comedy Zone lineup. Comedians Nathan Wallace and Nadeem Awad will take the Waxlax Stage with shows at 6:30 p.m. and 8:30 p.m. both nights. Wallace’s quick wit and audience interaction is well known, while Awad brings a sharp, South Florida flavor, having twice reached the finals in “Florida’s Funniest” contest. Tickets are $25. The Earth Day and Arbor Day Celebration takes place from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. on Saturday, April 26, in Riverview Park, U.S. 1 and County Road 512, Sebastian. The event will spotlight environmental awareness and community spirit with small business and nonprofit booths, live music, delicious food and children’s activities, along with the Sebastian Art Club’s Indian River Lagoon Fine Arts Show.
