VERO BEACH, March 24, 2025 — The Second Annual St. Paddle’s Day Pickleball Tournament, hosted by United Way of Indian River County, brought together 42 teams for a day of spirited competition and community support at Dick Bird Park on March 15, 2025. With more teams, more sponsors, and an even greater turnout than last year, the event showcased the growing popularity of pickleball while raising critical funds to support United Way’s mission.
Participants competed in multiple divisions, with top honors going to Christopher Dupuis and James King in the Men’s Experienced Division, Trish Essick and Elizabeth Kenney in the Women’s Experienced Division, Alfredo Hernandez and Elise Kennedy in the Mixed Experienced Division, Cecilia Hall and Jordan Sartori in Mixed Fun Division A, Andrew Stefanik and Lynn Stefanik in Mixed Fun Division B, and Samuel McCoy and Bryan Redden in the Men’s Fun Division.
“This event continues to grow, not only in participation but in its impact on our community,” said Meredith Egan, CEO of United Way of Indian River County. “It’s inspiring to see so many people come together for a fun and competitive day of pickleball, all while supporting our mission to improve the lives of individuals and families in Indian River County.”
The tournament’s success was made possible by the generous support of sponsors. Sponsors included Publix, which provided snacks, and Bread & Butter Pickleball, which supplied the awards. Silver sponsors included In Motion, Vero Beach Social Media, and Schlitt Services. Bronze sponsors were the Law Offices of Jennifer D. Peshke, P.A., Hannabri Roofing, Marine Bank, Runner’s Depot, Dermody Pediatric Dentistry & Orthodontics, KLUS, and The Porch Factory.
In addition to the matches, attendees had the opportunity to participate in a raffle featuring prizes from In Motion, Runner’s Depot, Cravings, and La Tabla. Volunteers played a crucial role in making the event a success, dedicating their time and effort to ensure a smooth and enjoyable experience for all participants.
All proceeds from the St. Paddle’s Day Pickleball Tournament will directly benefit United Way of Indian River County, supporting programs that promote health, education, and financial stability initiatives for local residents. As the event continues to grow, it strengthens not only the community’s love for pickleball but also its commitment to making a meaningful difference in the lives of those in need.
