Coming Up! Connect ‘UP’ with nonprofits at Community Resource Fair

United Against Poverty’s UP Center will host its fourth annual Community Resource Fair from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. Friday, March 21. Attendees can connect with representatives from over 90 local nonprofits, learn about community services, and enjoy children’s activities and live music. American Association of University Women will present “I Dissent” at 1 p.m. Saturday, March 22, at the Emerson Center, 1590 27th Ave., Vero Beach. The one-woman show, performed by Sheryl Faye, celebrates the life and legacy of Ruth Bader Ginsburg. Following the performance, a panel of distinguished local female attorneys, including Indian River County Deputy Attorney Susan Prado, will discuss Ginsburg’s impact on the legal profession and how their experiences compare to those of the late Supreme Court Justice. The Vero Beach Opera will present its fully staged production of “I Pagliacci” at 3 p.m. Sunday, March 23, at the Vero Beach High School Performing Arts Center, 1707 16th St. The opera tells the tale of Canio, an actor and leader of a commedia dell’arte theatrical company, who confronts his wife Nedda and her lover Silvio on stage during a performance. The Space Coast Symphony Orchestra will present “Broadway’s Leading Men.” Four professional vocalists – Andrew Lejeune, Bryan Hayes, Cesar De La Rosa and Stephen Mumbert – will perform a selection of hits from classic musicals like “South Pacific,” “Les Misérables” and “The Phantom of the Opera.” Tickets are priced at $35 in advance and $40 at the door, with free admission for students under 18 or those with a college ID. Riverside Theatre’s production of “Every Brilliant Thing” opens Tuesday, March 25 and runs through April 13 on its Waxlax Stage. The play follows a son’s journey in trying to make his depressed mother happy. He starts by making a list of everything that’s brilliant about the world. Tickets are $65.
