In an effort to focus more on issues impacting Indian River County residents, Congressman Mike Haridopolos will host a telephone town hall Monday afternoon. During the town hall, which starts at 5:30 p.m., Haridopolos will provide updates on his work in Congress, discuss prevalent issues locally and nationally, and answer questions live.

“This is a great opportunity for us to connect, and I’d love to hear directly from you about the issues that matter most. As your representative in Congress, my top priority is serving you and our community. Your feedback helps me make informed decisions and advocate for the policies that best support our district,” Haridopolos said in a statement. “Whether you have questions, concerns, or ideas for how we can make our community stronger, I want to hear from you.”

Rep. Haridopolos, 54, represents the 8th Congressional District, which includes all of Brevard and Indian River counties, and parts of Orange County. Those interested in joining the telephone town hall can RSVP on the Haridopolos congressional website.

Indian River County residents said issues such as improving the National Flood Insurance Program, beach replenishment, expediting FEMA reimbursements to local government, and boosting Medicare reimbursements to healthcare providers are a few factors they want Haridopolos to concentrate on during his first year in Congress.

Haridopolos, a longtime Brevard resident, also has a “Request an Appearance” feature on his website where residents can seek out the congressman to attend meetings, speaking functions or non-speaking functions. The congressman previously served in the Florida Legislature for 12 years and as Florida Senate president from 2010 to 2012.

Haridopolos serves as chairperson of the Space and Aeronautics Subcommittee of the Committee on Science, Space and Technology. The congressman also serves as Majority Whip of the House Financial Services Committee and a steering committee member of the Republican Study Committee.
