Coming Up! Warm up to magic of ‘Frozen’ at Guild’s Winter Camp

The Disney favorite “Frozen” has been turned into a stage musical and will be performed this weekend by the Vero Beach Theatre Guild’s Winter Camp. The heartwarming story enchants all ages with its tale of love, courage and the magic of family. It revolves around Queen Elsa, who accidentally brings an unending winter to a small town. Along with Kristoff, Olaf and Sven, the Queen’s sister, Anna, sets off to save the kingdom. The show performs at 7 p.m. Friday, Jan. 3, and 2 p.m. Saturday and Sunday, Jan. 4 and Jan. 5. Tickets are $15 to $20. Additionally, the theater will hold auditions for the play “Is He Dead?” at 6:30 p.m. Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday, Jan. 6-8, with callbacks scheduled for Thursday, Jan. 9. The comedy was adapted by David Ives from the Mark Twain story about Jean-François Millet, an impoverished French painter who fakes his own death to elevate the value of his art. Packed with burlesque humor, mistaken identities and social satire, performances are scheduled for March 21 through April 6. Kickstart your weekend with a healthy dose of philanthropy at the 1-Mile Run and 5K Walk/Run, starting at 7:30 a.m. and 8 a.m. Saturday, Jan. 4, at the Quail Valley River Club, 2341 Highway A1A, Vero Beach.
