VBMA Giving ‘Circle’ Celebrates 15 Years

VERO BEACH, FL—The Vero Beach Museum of Art giving Circle was established in 2009 to ensure that art education remains accessible to residents of all ages and abilities in our community, regardless of economic status. On November 14, Circle members and guests celebrated the start of its 15th year with a festive Opening Tea held in the Museum Atrium.

VBMA Executive Director Brady Roberts welcomed the crowd of 75, commending them for their dedication to the Museum and recognizing the milestone occasion. Circle Founding Member, Past Board Chair, and current Steering Committee Member Susan Von Hagen kicked off the business part of the meeting. She was followed by updates from Steering Committee Members, VBMA Director of Education Sara Klein, and VBMA Director of Development Melissa DePriest. A concluding champagne toast marked the commencement of the anniversary year.

Since its inception, The Circle has raised more than half a million dollars to support VBMA education and outreach programs, underwriting program delivery for some 40,000 school children and 1,650 access program participants. Circle membership has grown from its 23 founding members to nearly 160.

The group has set a goal to engage 250 members and raise $100,000 annually by 2027.

“We congratulate our Circle of philanthropic-minded women who, for 15 years, have made a difference by funding VBMA community-focused art enrichment programs and initiatives,” adds Melissa DePriest, VBMA Director of Development. “We are grateful for their longstanding investment in the Museum and our community,”

In recognition of its 15th anniversary, The Circle has put forward a robust slate of events. To learn more about The Circle and Circle membership, visit vbmuseum.org/thecircle.
