Vero Beach kicked off the holiday season in grand style, drawing thousands of people to the annual Christmas Parade hosted by Sunrise Rotary Vero Beach. Parade-goers, dressed in their festive best, bundled up for the chilly weather as they gathered for an evening overflowing with good cheer. The parade route was expanded this year to provide more viewing opportunities, and a new addition had Santa making an appearance pre-parade at Sexton Plaza, where good little boys and girls sat on his lap to whisper their fervent Christmas wishes into his ear.
As the sun set, music and laughter filled the air as first responders and assorted civic and sports groups, schools, businesses and nonprofits traversed the route by golf carts, boats and floats, along with plenty of walkers, dancers and tumblers, and even the Grinch. And finally, Jolly Old St. Nick, atop a fabulous sleigh pulled by eight reindeer, sprinkled some Christmas magic as he passed by, marking the end of the parade and the beginning of the holiday season.
