Registration Now for VBMA Winter Term Art Classes

VERO BEACH, FL—Artists at all levels are welcome to enroll in VBMA winter workshops and classes. Ten- and five-week courses begin on January 6. A second session of five-week courses begins on February 10.

Winter term features a variety of two- and three-day intensive workshops in ceramics, photography, expressive drawing, and painting—including abstract, portraiture, and seascapes—in levels ranging from beginner to advanced. Workshops are facilitated by the nation’s most esteemed professional teaching artists, including three artists residing outside of Florida:

Contemporary impressionist Monique Carr hails from Johnson City, Tennessee. She has taught since 2012, conducting workshops throughout the United States, France, and Italy. Monique will be at VBMA on January 25 and 26 from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m., teaching Abstracting Nature, an all-level painting workshop designed to inspire confidence and reveal the unique style of each student.

Douglas David lives in Indianapolis, Indiana, and has been painting full-time for over 25 years, capturing the natural beauty of landscapes, seascapes, city life, and still life throughout the United States and Europe. His two workshops—Painting People in Oil (February 28–March 2, 10 a.m.–4 p.m.) and Seascapes, Beaches, and Dunes in Oil (April 4–6, 10 a.m.–4 p.m.)—are for students at all levels.

Marianne Mitchell is devoted to transforming lives through the presence and practice of art. Marianne is the founder of Whole Artist Mastery and a Mid-Atlantic Arts Foundation Fellowship recipient. Her works hang in collections across the United States and abroad. Marianne is from Blue Bell, Pennsylvania. She will instruct Painting into Abstraction, February 14 through 16, from 10 a.m.–4 p.m., an intermediate-level workshop focusing on accessing personal expression in abstraction and understanding how to use visual language to create work in your unique voice.
