Bark in the Park Press Release

Humane Society of Vero Beach & Indian River County cancels Bark in the Park 2025 Due to Hurricane Milton Aftermath

Vero Beach, FL – November 19, 2024 – The Humane Society of Vero Beach & Indian River County (HSVB) regrets to announce the cancellation of Bark in the Park 2025, originally scheduled for January 11th, 2025, at Riverside Park. This decision was made to prioritize the safety of the community, vendors, and pets due to lingering safety concerns following Hurricane Milton’s devastation.

Despite extensive cleanup efforts by the city, it cannot be guaranteed that the park will be free of hazardous debris such as glass and metal by the event date. The safety of all attendees is HSVB’s highest priority, and the organization is committed to ensuring its events maintain the fun and safe atmosphere the community has come to love.

“We are heartbroken to cancel this beloved event, but the safety of our community and their pets must come first,” said Mary Catherine Morton. “We are already looking ahead to Bark in the Park 2026, and we’re excited to make it even bigger and better.”

The Humane Society also invites the community to support its mission by making donations at https://hsvb.org/support-us/donate/ or visiting our Wishlist https://a.co/1jUQOSk. Contributions directly help provide food, medical care, and shelter for homeless and at-risk animals in Indian River County.

HSVB extends its heartfelt thanks to the community for its unwavering support during this challenging time and looks forward to continuing to serve the animals and people of Indian River County.
