70th CHRISTMAS TREE LANE WILL BE OPEN FOR STROLLING

VERO BEACH – The area’s oldest and largest holiday bazaar and cookie bake sale –

Christmas Tree Lane – will be held on Saturday, Dec. 7th from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. on the First Presbyterian Church Campus, 520 Royal Palm Blvd., Vero Beach. Remarkably this marks the 70th season for this popular one-day event, a fundraiser of the Presbyterian Women to benefit various local charities.  Attendees can expect incredible bargains, imaginative gift ideas and stocking stuffers, plus a mouthwatering array of homemade cookies and other yummy temptations to sample right away or freeze for the Holidays.

Admission is free and parking ample; cash or checks preferred.

The Unique Boutique in the Christian Life Center’s vast McAfee Hall will have hundreds of gently used or brand-new items including Christmas decorations, small furniture, costume jewelry, handbags, books, home décor and kitchen items, along with a large display of toys, games and plush animals.  Available artwork spans from original and limited edition to wall décor.  The

Bargain Corner will offer items needing just a bit of TLC to shine.

The talented ladies of the church’s Quilting, Sewing and Crafts Circle will display their latest handmade creations, from wine gift bags and shoe bags to handmade ornaments, potholders, placemats, purses and more.

Special Features: A Christmas Tree laden with a variety of gift cards and gift certificates we expect will exceed $1000.00 will be featured in a raffle.  A flock of exquisite rare and unique bird ornaments displayed on a 7- foot Christmas tree will also be raffled. From 9:30 on, enjoy musical merriment by the FPC Youth Jazz Combo, live!

Outdoors follow “Christmas Tree Lane,” under the campus’s covered walkways to discover our much-anticipated Cookies-by-the Pound.  Scrumptious homemade cookies are prepackaged in groups of 6 or 12 for ease of creating a custom assortment, while Mrs. Claus’s Pantry’s tasty temptations will range from home-baked cakes, pies and fruit breads to homemade pickles and jams.

Event organizers Carol Freeman and Maggie Fleming said that thanks to the community’s support, last year’s fundraiser enabled the Presbyterian Women to make donations to Gifford Youth Achievement Center, Shining Light Garden, Hope for Families, Alzheimer’s and Parkinson’s Association of Vero Beach and the Sheriffs Dept’s Shop With a Cop and Bicycle Give-away to name a few.  Last year, Christmas Tree Lane raised almost $19,000.
