Ballet Vero Beach Returns to Vero Beach Museum of Art

Shows in November and February feature original works inspired by Museum exhibitions

VERO BEACH, FL—Dancers and choreographers from Ballet Vero Beach take the stage at the Vero Beach Museum of Art (VBMA) Leonhardt Auditorium for afternoon performances on Saturday, November 16, 2024, and Saturday, February 8, 2025, inspired by the Museum’s season exhibitions Roadside Reverie: Glass Works by John Miller and French Moderns: Monet to Matisse, 1850–1950.

On Saturday, November 16, Ballet Vero Beach ignites the Vero Beach Museum of Art’s stage with Classic Heat, a collection of works that explore the spirit of the 1960s. Classic Heat reflects the museum’s exhibition, Roadside Reverie: Glass Works by John Miller, by taking inspiration from the colors, charisma, and culture of the 1960s. Audiences will be delighted by two new works choreographed by Ballet Vero Beach dancers Marlyse Noble and Darien Santos and a reworked version of Artistic Director Adam Schnell’s Crimson & Clover, which turns 20 years old this year and has never been seen in Vero Beach.

On Saturday, February 8, 2025, Ballet Vero Beach returns to VBMA for Joie de Vivrean interpretation of the exhibition French Moderns: Monet to Matisse, 1850–1950. Inspired by line, balance, and blank space, this sweeping program with French flare and avant-garde movements features premiere works by dancers Darien Santos and Abriella Mauldin.

“Our interpretive dance programs at the Vero Beach Museum of Art have become an important part of BVB’s repertory development,” says BVB Artistic Director and CEO Adam Schnell. “VBMA provides a space for choreographic incubation and innovation. Each performance is always unique and exciting!”

Tickets to the 3:00 p.m. performances include entrance to the Museum, so arrive early to walk the galleries or take in the 2 p.m. docent-led exhibition tour. Tickets are $30 per show for VBMA members and Ballet Vero Beach subscribers and $36 for nonmembers.  Reserve online at vbmuseum.org.
