Renovated Bougainvillea home bespeaks quality and comfort

As you pull into the circle drive with a two-car, side-entry garage and parking area, serenity is the feeling that emanates from the recently renovated and updated home at 606 Bougainvillea Lane in Vero Beach Estates.

Allison and Peter Venditti moved to Boca Raton from South America in 2002. When they decided to leave Boca because the area had “gotten too crazy,” the couple searched “all over the state,” recalls Allison, including up and down Florida’s east coast.

“It totally made sense once we drove into Vero,” adds Allison.

They were drawn to Central Beach because of the convenient location between the bridges and between the river and ocean, close to all the shops and restaurants on Ocean Drive and Cardinal Drive. As an avid fisherman, Peter was thrilled to be able to walk to the beach, fish and ride his bike on the beach. The area also had the sense of community they had been seeking.

Allison adds, “It’s my goal not to get in the car for anything.”

“The home was thoughtfully renovated in 2022,” says Mazie Regan, broker associate with the O’Dare Boga Dobson Group at ONE Sotheby’s International Realty. “This curated smart home blends a contemporary aesthetic with an island spirit.”

Renovations include updated plumbing and electricity; impact windows and doors; a metal roof with Icynene insulation; a new pool heater; a ring security system; Lutron lighting; linear diffusers; and a new irrigation system.

The front entry opens into the living room and dining room. This open space has a cathedral ceiling and an electric Napoleon fireplace and features a shiplap wall and sliding glass doors across the rear of the room, ensuring seamless indoor-outdoor living.

“With the open floorplan, the cathedral ceiling separates the rooms nicely,” notes co-listing agent Carly Witteck, with the O’Dare Boga Dobson Group.

Minimalist finishes and clean lines give the open-concept home an air of modern luxury and comfort. Natural light filters in through multiple windows and sliding glass doors.

A guest bedroom with a full bath that doubles as a powder room is located to the left of the front entry. Just down the hallway toward the rear of the house is a convenient laundry room.

Large windows in the primary suite offer pool and garden views, and a sliding glass door opens onto the covered lanai.

The suite’s walk-in closet and luxe bathroom feature dual sinks, quartz countertops, touch mirror medicine cabinets, a walk-in rain-glass shower and a rain shower head that create a spa-like ambiance.

On the opposite side of the house, the European gourmet kitchen is outfitted with a Gaggenau induction stove, a Miele steam and convection oven, a sizable waterfall-speckled quartz island with eat-in seating and storage, a water filtration system and touch-sensitive technology features.

The misty blue, glass subway tile backsplash against the custom cabinetry and wood floating shelves softens the white palette along with the openness of the kitchen and breakfast nook.

The garage is accessed just off the kitchen, making it easy to bring in groceries. At the rear of the house, a guest bedroom with a bath that doubles as the pool bath and a sitting room with sliding glass doors that open onto the lanai create an intimate space for visitors to enjoy.

Outside, the covered lanai is cocooned by the house, providing protection from inclement weather and wind.

“There’s a lot of flexibility in how you set up,” says Allison, noting the two covered spaces for dining or chatting over a glass of wine, and plenty of open deck area for lounging poolside.

The saltwater pool with a heater and cooler is surrounded by mature landscaping. A large fiddle leaf tree, the canopy of oak trees, plumeria, Christmas palms, banana trees and lush hedges provide a tropical oasis in the privacy of your backyard as you sit and enjoy the southern exposure.

The Vendittis added a guest house in 2023. Built by Della Porta Construction, the versatile space features a wine cooler, two drink refrigerators and a full bath, making it an excellent option for an elderly parent, suggests Peter.

“It’s a rare find to have a guest house. This is so versatile because it can be an office, a hangout room for the kids or a space for the in-laws when they come to stay. It has multipurpose functionality,” says Witteck, noting the Murphy bed.

A three-panel sliding glass door opens to the lanai under cover of the Pergola X louvered roof structure with an electronic control system featuring smart automatic rain and wind sensors.

It’s a short walk to Riverside Park for a game of tennis or visit to the art museum or to Ocean Drive for shopping, dinner or the Farmers Market.

Peter refers to the area as West of A1A, making them “Westies,” noting the location at the center of the block lends itself to quiet living.

The home is centrally located, within walking distance of the island village. It offers easy access to a guarded public beach at Humiston Park and shopping and dining along Ocean Drive. Riverside Park, the Vero Beach Museum of Art and the Riverside Theatre are just a few blocks away.
