Audubon received awards from Florida Audubon for Chapter of the Year and Excellence in Education –Pelican Island Audubon Society has been the voice of conservation in Indian River County since 1964.

After speaking with Brian and Barbara, it was important to have them come and talk about their book, She Talks to Fish; which is a coming-of-age story of a young black woman whose obsession with fly fishing in the mountains of North Carolina leads her to confront stereotypes, bigotry, weather, and even death with immeasurable perseverance.

This event is a fundraiser for Pelican Island Audubon Society’s Audubon Advocate program, an after-school science and outdoor adventure program for underrepresented students at Title I schools in Indian River County.

Tickets are $30 per person and available at www.PelicanIslandAudubon.org
