Richard Campolo, 81
May 4, 1943 – August 30, 2024
Richard Campolo, age 81, passed away peacefully on Friday, August 30, 2024, with his beloved wife, Nancy, by his side. Born in Syracuse, NY, on May 4, 1943, he was a son of the late Anthony and Antoinette (Ingelinera) Campolo.
Richard dedicated 23 years of service as a police officer with the city of Pembroke Pines, FL, before retiring. He also served his country honorably in the United States Air Force. A proud member of the Fraternal Order of Police and the Broward County Police Benevolent Association, Richard was deeply committed to his community and his fellow officers.
He was a devoted member of St. Maximillian Kolbe Catholic Church in Pembroke Pines for 19 years and, more recently, a member of Holy Cross Catholic Church in Vero Beach for over 20 years. Richard was an active participant in the Knights of Columbus at both churches, reflecting his strong faith and dedication.
Richard is survived by his loving wife, Nancy; his son, Michael; and his siblings, Patrick, Anthony, Marie, Rosemary, and Kathy. He is also survived by his grandchildren, Vanessa, Nicholas, and Zachary, and his great-grandchildren, Cameron and Amelia.
Richard lived a life full of love, dedication, and service. He is remembered for his kindness, integrity, and the warmth he brought to everyone around him. He was a devoted husband, father, and grandfather, whose family was the center of his world.
Richard will be deeply missed but fondly remembered for his unwavering dedication, service, and the love he shared with his family and community.
The family will receive friends on Thursday, September 5, 2024 from 10:00am until 12:00Noon at Cox Gifford Seawinds Funeral Home 1950 20th St., Vero Beach, FL 32960.
A prayer service is planned for Thursday, September 5, 2024 during the visiting hours of 10:00AM – 12:00PM at the funeral home and will be announced as soon as confirmed. Richard will be laid to rest in Hollywood Memorial Gardens East (Taft St.) day and time will be announced as soon as confirmed.

Nathaniel Huggins III, 92
December 28, 1931 – August 29, 2024
Nathaniel Huggins III, affectionately known as Nat, passed away on August 29, 2024, at the age of 92 after complications from cancer. Born on December 28, 1931, in Herkimer, NY, he was the beloved son of Anne and Nathaniel Huggins, Jr. Nat graduated from Salisbury School in 1950 and continued his education in Art History at Williams College. His commitment to service was evident when he served as the Historical Officer for the 32nd Air Division at Syracuse Air Force Base.
Following college, Nat embarked on a notable career in the insurance industry, first at NY Life and then as Vice President and Partner at The Rollins Agency in Bronxville, NY.
Nat has been a freight train model railroad enthusiast since childhood. He has spent countless hours designing, building and creating model railroads – the last of which, was the Treasure Coast Model Railroad in Port St. Lucie, FL. He was also a master model builder of clipper ships, historical sites and private homes in both NY and FL each showcasing his craftsmanship and creativity. He was an active volunteer at Harbor Branch Oceanographic Institute in Ft Pierce, FL. He contributed to innovative projects, including sensors to open the lock systems in the Everglades to allow manatees to travel to their breeding grounds. He also reconstructed the skeletal remains of manatees for educational purposes which can be seen at HBOI and at Manatee Lagoon in West Palm Beach.
Nat’s legacy is one of love, kindness, and a vibrant spirit. He was a devoted husband to his beloved wife of 61 years, Jayne, and a cherished father to his three children: Hillary, Piper, and Nat. He was also a proud grandfather to Emma, Willem, and Wyatt, and is remembered fondly by his sons-in-law, Alex and Adam, and daughter-in-law, Kristyn, as well as their sweet, rescued cat, Bijou.
A private, family service will be held in Larchmont, NY. Betty Jane Crockett, 92, Vero Beach
September 18, 1932 – September 1, 2024
Betty Jane Crockett, of Vero Beach, FL, passed away on September 1, 2024. She was born in Medina, NY, to the late Frederick Pierce Blount and Clara Louise Nayman Blount.
Betty graduated from Madina high school and began her career at Murphy’s 5 & Dime in Medina. She went on to work at GE Assembly and later managed the books for her husband’s business, Grant’s Collision. Throughout her life, Betty and her family lived in various locations, including San Jose and Oakland, CA, Statesville, NC, and she settled in Vero Beach, FL, about ten years ago.
Betty had a passion for collecting dolls with her sisters, including a notable collection of Cabbage Patch Dolls. She was a devoted mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother, and her family cherished the time they spent together.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Grant E. Crockett and her sister, Bernice McNeil. Betty is survived by her children, Sandra L. Cosser of Vero Beach, FL, and David E. Crockett (Deborah) of Lady Lake, FL; her siblings, Rose Castricone and Thomas Blount; grandchildren AJ Gonzalez, Jeremy Crockett, and Krysta Crockett; and great-grandchildren Collin, Jaxon, Haley, and Clara. She is also survived by several nieces, nephews, and a host of friends.
She will be deeply missed by all who knew her.

John “Spike”,”Coach” Joseph Mahoney Jr., 87, Fort Pierce
February 19, 1937 – September 1, 2024
John “Spike”,”Coach” Joseph Mahoney Jr. 87 of Fort Pierce, Fl passed away on September 1.2024, after a lengthy battle with cancer. Born in Chester, PA John moved to Wilmington, DE where he lived until 2000 and then moved to Fort Pierce , Fl. John was preceded in death by his parents John J Sr and Loretta E Mahoney, his sister Maryanne Etnoyer and Regina (Al) Restaneo , Son-in-law James Wright and great-granddaughter Brianna. John is survived by his wife of 43 years Cecelia, children Stephen M Mahoney and Katherine Mahoney Wright, step-daughters Robin (Richard) McDonaugh and Tamera (Evan) Jones, 5 grandchildren and 4 Great-grandchildren. John served in the US Army for 2 years. He attended Villanova and Goldey Beacon College John worked for the DuPont Co as a Lab Technician for 28 years retiring in 1992. While working at DuPont he received a United States Patent of which he was very proud.
John graduated from St. James Boys Catholic High School in Chester Pa, class or 1954. While working at Du Pont John was a football coach for the Mt. Pleasant Squires midget football league. He then moved onto coach the Mt. Pleasant High School Green Knights which won the State of Delaware High School Championship in 1981. He was an ardent Sports fan of the Philadelphia Phillies and the Philadelphia Eagles.
While living in Spanish Lakes Country Club Village he was very active in all the community affairs.
He played in several Golf Leagues, played Bocce and for many years devoted lots of hours running the Senior Fitness Games along with Gerri Purcell, JoAnn Camino and his wife. John always had a story to tell and lived life to the fullest. He will be missed by all.
There will no services as per John’s request. There will be a Celebration of Life at a later date.

Roland Francis Pepin, 91, Fort Pierce
November 11, 1932 – August 30, 2024
Roland Francis Pepin, aged 91, passed away on August 30, 2024, in Port St. Lucie, Florida. He had been a resident of Spanish Lakes Fairways in Fort Pierce, FL for the past 29 years, since retiring in 1995.
Born in Central Falls, Rhode Island, he was the son of the late Paul and Lea (Charpentier) Pepin. Roland was preceded in death by his loving wife Estelle Dorothy (Beauregard) Pepin, his siblings Paul Pepin Jr., Loretta Morris, and Marie Lillian Genereux. He is survived by his son Kenneth Pepin and his wife Marianne; his daughter Rebecca Maddock; son Gary Pepin and his wife Maureen; daughter Renee Snook and her husband Colin; his loving sisters, Rita Marques and Doris Laramie; eight grandchildren; and six great-grandchildren.
Roland was a graduate of Sacred Heart Academy in Central Falls, RI. His commitment to service was evident through his tenure in the US Coast Guard, where he proudly served for three years. Professionally, Roland dedicated many years to the grocery industry, working as a Deli Department Manager at First National Supermarkets until 1980, followed by a career as an Inventory Specialist at Electric boat in Quonset, RI, until his retirement in 1995.
A devout Christian, Roland was an active member of St. Helen’s Church in Vero Beach, FL and St. Edwards Parish in Pawtucket, RI. His faith was a cornerstone of his life, often expressed through his love for singing. He participated in various church choirs, church social clubs, Men’s glee clubs, including the Barbershop singing group at Spanish Lakes Fairways in Fort Pierce, FL, and had been a member of Les Gais Chanteurs men’s singing group in Pawtucket, RI. Additionally, he was an active member of The Knights of Columbus in Vero Beach, FL.
Services will be held at St. Raymond’s Church on Main St., Providence, RI. on TBD. Cox Gifford Seawinds Funeral Home & Crematory in Vero Beach, FL is assisting with the arrangements.
Roland will be remembered as a very unselfish, hardworking, and giving family man, whose legacy of love and dedication will live on through those who knew him.
