The Inshore Catch Photo Release Fishing Tournament begins Friday, Sept. 13, and runs through Oct. 12. The event benefits the Environmental Learning Center and its efforts to conserve and educate about the Indian River Lagoon. The Veterans Council Clay Shoot Fundraiser begins at 8 a.m. Saturday, Sept. 14, at the Vero Beach Clay Shooting Sports, 5925 82nd Ave. There will be a catered breakfast and lunch, clay targets, trappers at each station, a golf cart, an event T-shirt and more. The documentary “Sentenced,” narrated by NBA great Stephen Curry, explores the “epidemic of childhood illiteracy” and how it traps children into generational poverty. It will be screened at 6 p.m. Tuesday, Sept. 17, at the Vero Beach Theatre Guild, 2020 San Juan Ave., and at 6 p.m. Wednesday, Sept. 18, at the North Indian River County Library, 1001 Sebastian Blvd., Sebastian.
