MELBOURNE, FL, Aug. 15, 2024 – The Melbourne Municipal Band (MMB) begins its 60th season of free community concerts on Sept. 19 with a one-night only concert, “Weather of All Kinds,” beginning at 7 pm at the Melbourne Auditorium, 625 E. Hibiscus Blvd. There is no charge and tickets are not required. Doors open at 6 p.m. and pre-show entertainment will be provided by Rock & Roll Revue.
“September can be dicey in Florida when it comes to the weather,” said MMB Conductor Staci Rosbury. “Hopefully, the only tempestuous weather we’ll have will be in the musical representations of storms. We’ll have rain, thunder, sleet, snow, and rainbows, but no umbrellas will be required for this indoor concert.”
The program will feature a variety of weather-related selections, including the micro-symphony Skyward Spirits, Autumn on White Lake, Over the Rainbow, In A Gentle Rain, and Always United, Forever Strong, which musically depicts the strong human spirit emerging in the aftermath of a hurricane.
