The house at 9261 Orchid Cove Cir. in one of the island’s newer subdivisions offers buyers a refreshing opportunity to live in a pristine, quality-built, furnished home.

The owner came to the United States when her family left Venezuela during the political unrest in 2000. They had heard about Vero Beach through friends and decided to settle here and raise their family.

“Vero Beach was the perfect place to raise our kids,” says the owner.

She bought the Orchid Cove property as an investment. Today, she travels a good part of the year and wants to simplify her life.

“I love the location, between the river and the ocean. I thought it was a nice neighborhood, which wasn’t super big,” she recalls.

The rooms and the well-thought-out, open floorplan are enhanced by the white palette and clean lines, conducive to any style of décor. Light from many windows fills the home.

“I love the design of the house,” adds the owner, noting the high ceilings and fine finishes. In addition, the elegantly comfortable furnishings are included in the sale, so it’s easy enough to move right in without making any adjustments.

Located at the back of the neighborhood along Orchid Cove Lagoon, the home resides in a serene tropical setting that is the epitome of coastal elegance, with a high level of quality trim work and fine features inside.

“It was a model home. Buying the house furnished was a plus,” says the owner.

The covered entryway opens into a foyer and gallery that leads to the great room at the rear of the house. Along this hallway is an ensuite guest bedroom near the front door, convenient when company is in town.

Next to the guest bedroom is a study that has barn doors, so you have the option to close the room off from the rest of the house. Premier Estate Properties estate agent Lange Sykes notes that the flex space could be made into a third bedroom.

At the end of the hall, a powder room and bar with a wine cooler are strategically placed for entertaining.

At the rear of the house, the kitchen, great room and dining room create an inviting expanse where the family can gather and guests can be entertained. Sliding glass doors across the great room and dining area open onto the covered lanai and greenspace with views of lush vegetation.

The kitchen island helps segment the space, providing casual seating and a prep area with a sink. Just off the kitchen, a full pantry, the laundry room and the three-car garage are easily accessible.

The primary suite can be reached through the great room or the laundry room, which is convenient on laundry day. From the laundry room, you pass through the walk-in closet and into the bathroom.

In the bedroom, large windows overlook the naturally landscaped backyard. On the opposite side of the room, a barn door opens into an opulent bathroom with dual sinks, a soaking tub, a walk-in shower and a water closet.

Outside the covered lanai is a lovely spot to sit and enjoy the lush Florida landscape. The property backs up to historic Michael Creek, which connects to the Indian River Lagoon.

“Some of the homes on this south side of the development have built a deck and even nature walks out to a dock,” points out Sykes. These additions add to the value of the property and the feeling of true Florida living.

“I love the backyard. It’s very private with the mangroves. It’s beautiful and very peaceful,” notes the owner.

The large community pool, gazebo and docks are popular amenities in the boutique community. A wooden walkway behind the pool leads to an observation pier, and there is a 21-slip marina where boating enthusiasts can purchase a slip. The deep water makes it easy to maneuver. You can also head to the Sebastian Inlet, the Pelican Island Wildlife Sanctuary, the Environmental Learning Center, nearby waterfront restaurants or out for a sunset cruise.

Orchid Cove is a new, luxury, gated community located alongside the Indian River Lagoon just minutes from Wabasso Beach. Amenities include a fishing pier, kayak launch and gazebo. The recently completed clubhouse has a fitness center with a locker room, pool, patio and event room with a full kitchen.

“Being near the Wabasso Bridge is very convenient. You can be off the island in less than five minutes,” says the owner.
